I'm actually grateful Merlin uses a broom cause at least that way he looks more natural than the car riding Sims... natural being used in a very broad way her of course.

I rode horses when I could. It made it more natural to me. I wish there was a mod to turn all cars to horses or something, but I tend to live in the country in that town anyway, so it doesn't really affect me.

Were you able to get your dragon to fly? Mine won't fly. "Not enough room" it says.

I considered horses until I saw the broom. The broom is fine for me, so I'll probably keep it at that. XD

And yes, my dragon can fly. o3o I think Merlin has made him fly around three times? At least three times that I was paying attention.

Odd. Where did you fly it?

I don't care much for toddler stages, but I have changed my mind after looking at the sims online. There's a forum on Sims3.com that has pros and cons of sims 4. So far I honestly think it's better because of everything I have seen. The thing I like the most is emotions!! Also there's other things that I like to. You have to go see for yourselves.

Anybody have sims 3 seasons? Is it any good? I kind of want it.. Then again why can't they put seasons in the based game? It would make sense and not have to take so much time aside for the game.

Though I like the idea of emotions and the style of the Sims 4, I also feel like it's a major step back. I like the toddler stage, personally. It just adds more realism. But the major step back for me is the ability to customize patterns and the like. I love to spend hours on homes, and if I can't make a house fully custom, then I don't see a point in getting it. :\
Maybe when that stuff comes into the game, I'll consider it. But, to me it's just another step back for EA.

As for Sims 3 Seasons, it does add a sense of realism to the game. There are so many events to do and it's just overall a fun addition. They don't put Seasons in the base game to make a profit. They did the same thing with Sims 2, which also had the wonderful addition of Seasons. I recommend Sims 3 Seasons if you like to play your game on a more realistic level, like coats for your sims, are interested in new hair, etc.
I personally like to play with my sims in a more reality-based environment (Not super rich, modest home, struggling paycheck to paycheck, etc.) and Seasons just added an extra boost to that.

I believe he flew the dragon outside his house, and twice at the community garden.

I might use the code to get the free Sims 2 game, even if I don't download and play it instantly. I never got it after having played it once at a friend's house and not really falling in love with it, so I stuck with Sims 1 until Sims 3 had a good number of expansions on it. Might have to give it another go if it's free. =P

I cannot wait for The Sims 4. I was rather skeptical at first about toddlers and pools and after hearing that news I also, like many, thought that this was a big step back for EA. However after reading many Q and A's and watching trailers released by EA, I realize now that it isn't that big of a deal. EA have added so much more realism into the new game and added so many new specs that will make the game so much more interesting and hooking. Although toddlers and pools will be missed; this is just the base game and they may come out in future expansion packs if you think that the game is severely let down because of this removal.

Toddlers for me, was where i got worried about the games potential as the toddler stage in the sims to me is one of the most important and fun to play with. However, after watching CAS demos and reading the specs of the game by EA, its easy for me to understand why putting in the toddler life stage would just to be too much work for them at this stage as they need to start releasing rather than still producing and perfecting-as the game does have a release deadline. The amount of emotions and new game play for the sim people that has been produced must have taken an extremely large portion of time to develop for each life stage of the sim-toddlers are a complex and emotional life stage and so this would just add un-needed pressure on EA.

As for the removal of create a style-although it means less customization-there are so many colours ans styles to choose from that I personally do not think that it has hindered the game much.

If you are like me, lets hope that the infant life stage is rewarding and interesting enough or they add the toddler life stage in future expansions.

I feel that if perhaps they had set themselves a more realistic timeline they could have worked a lot more properly with the game. As the game stands, I have no interest in The Sims 4, and their explanations simply fall as well placed marketing schemes to convince consumers that they are doing this all for the sake of 'advancing' the game to my ears instead of for what it probably is... withholding content that should be in the base game for future expansions. I have no quarrel with people who are interested in Sims 4, but so far no go for me. The pros aren't really enough to move me any closer towards buying it, and the cons really do feel like a step back no matter how I look at them. I do not appreciate having content removed so severely only to hope that I can spend an extra 60 dollars on it later on.

I liked that part, toddler life stage, but at the same time it's where I wouldn't be so happy. Especially if my sims had twins. Which honestly I don't mean to happen, but I can't really prevent it other than keeping them away from children music and children TV channel. That's about it. The more babies the more work. I normally have my sim that isn't that high into their job call out a few days to teach the kid{s} how to walk, talk, and use the potty. Truly was complicated at times because they would always end up crying.

~~~~~~~~
Although that part is out it doesn't bother me. They have said that there are a lot more things in stored for us. I've never had the expansion packs for Sims 3. Only Sims 2 and that was seasons. Being that my computer is so new and the game is so old it didn't work out too well. It would freeze all the time. That's fine, but I'm excited for Sims 4. Some are saying it's a Limited Edition. Is that true?
@Tammanae: I agree with you. The same issue arose with some of the Sims 3 Expansion packs that some of it should have been in the game itself, but it worked out better there than it is in the Sims 4. I have seen several Q&A's and reviews, most of which obviously are positive towards the game, but I just see too many cons.
___
$60 is ridiculous to spend on a base game to begin with if you ask me. Especially with what it's holding back. Though I have no issues with anyone who wants the game, as I too said: I plan to wait for my customization and toddlers. I could care less for pools. But I find the toddler stage is crucial for the way I play my game.
___
@Jockey_of_the_Boeing: See, but here's my thing with the expansion packs: That's all fine and dandy for a pool. But would you really spend +$20 to add a stage in your game that should have been included with the $60 pack you're buying? I think that's a bit ridiculous and in turn will hurt them more than help them when you look at the numbers. I too saw the demos and the way I see it is this: They forced their deadline. They could have moved it back to add the toddlers in. We have enough Sims 3 stuff and such to hold us all off for the Sims 4 for another year.
As for create-a-style, there may be many colors and premade styles to choose from, but from an artistic point of view of someone who likes everyone to be unique with fifty different hair colors from red to neon green with purple streaks, that's just like putting everyone in a suit and calling them "Bob Smith". Create-a-Style was a major reason I personally bought the Sims 3, as well as many others. It still is a step back to lose that.
___
@ i z z y : Your issue with the twin toddlers is actually what makes the game a challenge. Sims was made to be a simulation of real life. I planned for twins and got quadruplets. It's just like real life where it's the luck of the draw. It's the challenge of life that you can't focus work and children all the time. Sure, you can take the easy way out and make everyone happy with cheats, but.. It's not the same right? You can always of course turn aging off, increase the ages, etc. so it is easier to teach the toddlers.
It still does bother me to not be able to have that realistic part of a toddler where the child learns a lot of things they'll need in life (walking, talking, potty training). A lot more in store can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you view it. It could be like the previous games with useless stuff packs for all we know. Or a whole expansion pack for $20 for a pool. I don't know.
I've just started up playing TS3 again recently and I've already spent literally an entire day just playing. I have all of the expansions and a few stuff packs, but at the moment I only have the base game, Ambitions, University, and Into the Future installed.
My game plays pretty well and the graphics seem to be good too, but I still want to play with at least one other expansion pack, but I don't know which one I want to install at the moment. I'm thinking either Generations, Island Paradise, Pets, Supernatural, or Seasons. (I have played all of them before so I've experienced pretty much everything there is in most all of them so its not like I haven't played a certain one yet).
Based on your own opinions what order would you put the expansions in as for which one I might want to install next? ^^; thanks~ :D
