So, I decided I was going to make another game file, but this time it was going to try and complete the girl's life time wish---The Ark Builder (Have to have 2 cat, dogs, horses, birds, etc.) I've never done it before, so I figured it would be fun. But my own twist is that she won't have a job. So when I first made the family, I started her off with a dog, a cat, and a horse. It was a bit rough in the beginning, but she taught the dog how to hunt, and the cat practice its hunting skill on a toy. Everything they've caught by the end of the day, I'd sell. It makes pretty good money. She also has been working with the horse on racing and jumping, which brought in more money. Once she was more settled in her home with a few thousand dollars, I let her get her second cat that was similar looking to the first cat.
That was on Friday. I decided that was enough playing for one day, so I saved the game and turned it off. Comes Saturday, I started to play that file again for a while. The horse got better in the jumping skill, and the dog and first cat were catching/finding better things since their hunting skill was higher, making even more money. The second cat is just starting her hunting skill. After a few more thousand dollars are made, my girl adopts her second dog. After the third day with the second dog, I decided I wanted to play with a different family. So I hit the "Main menu" button, thinking I hit "Save and Quit". So you know how when you hit "Main menu" it asks you if you wish to save first? Well, since I thought I had hit "Save and Quit" instead, I thought it was asking me if I wanted to exit out of the game. So I hit "No" and now all my data from Friday is gone DxOh gosh, that's horrible. DX This is why I always use the Save before I Save and Quit. I know it is silly to do so, but I have had this happen before, and now I am just paranoid.
Yeah, I haven't played with the file since then. Normally I save, then save and quit, but I didn't have plans to originally stop playing then. But now I'm having a completely different problem with my game.
So, lately I've just had my Sims be self-employed. Well, the other day, I decided I was going to make two criminals live in Starlight Shores, and their child would be in law enforcement, and so would that child's husband/wife. The goal with this family is to try every single career through the generations. However, the two criminals (no child yet) have both reached level five in their careers. But now every time I send them to work, it remains saying "Going to work" and their job performance won't increase or decrease. The first time this happened, I reset them and sent them to work again, and it worked just fine. They got promoted that night, which is when they hit level five. Comes the next day, the same issue happens with jsut saying "Going to work". At this point, I just saved my game and turned it off.
Is there any way to fix that permanently? I'd really get tired of having to reset them every time after sending them to work :S Though last time they were reset, I just used resetSim * to reset the entire town, and not just my two sims.
