Is it coming up as a RAR file??
If yes, you have to Extract it.

no it's not, i could try compressing it into a .rar then uncompromising it, but i don't think the problem lies with the "sims 3 launcher" app... i will try changing the format of the actual install file

would you mind telling me how large (gig) your sims 3 seasons file is? mine is at a 1.05 GB and that seems wrong, previously all the EPs have been over 2GB'

i will attempt to manually update my launcher...... hopefully it will work.. if anyone else on CS has fixed this problem, i'd be greatfull to know =D

the digital download,

Yeah origin is broken as of right now. They have stuffed the download up so you will have to wait, or buy a physical copy. I hate origin, hence why I bought the disc lol. And a heaps of accounts were hacked on there. I wouldnt stress about those tho.

okay WOW that was hard...

i got the game running!
if you have the same errors as me this is what you have to do
1. (you will have downloaded from origin) download the main patch from here http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ ... td-p/67858
2. install the game
3. move the files from the origin file to your sims 3 seasons folder, (the folder will be there, you will need to enter that folder and paste all the missing folders in, excsept the "install" folder you received from the origin download)
4. you will be able to play the game

if these instructions diddnt work for you then contact me

the digital download,

Yeah, its best to get the disc.

That's debatable. My computer is horrible with discs, to the point of sometimes stopping an installation halfway just because it decided to stop reading the darn thing. It doesn't do this with DVDs or CDs, just games because it likes to troll me. To top it all off, finding Sims games over here is nearly impossible anyways, so Digital Download is a blessing for me. No shipping fees that go through the roof, no computer being annoying, and I have never had a problem with Origin either. One bad experience is of course bound to happen every now and then no matter what way you choose to buy, it doesn't make either option better or worse, just gives costumers more options to fit their particular needs.

On another topic, got invited to yet another party. Noticed that the neighbors seem to invite you to parties on holidays now if you haven't set a party for that day yourself. It was a costume party, and I had to end up making their costumes myself, because those original costumes were so mismatched it wasn't even funny. ID I did notice that whenever I switch around some apparel on either the mirror or the wardrobe, the hat my Sim is using for outerwear resets to whatever it fancies instead of what I had set for it, which is getting annoying. On the bright side, this is really the only annoying thing I have encountered with this expansion so far, so I can't complain much. Also, my poor Specter and Lori (Pit bull and Catalina Macaw) died one right after the other. Got another pup from the shelter already, she is only lazy but looked too cute to pass up (Watch her grow up to be a mutant) and will hopefully find another bird for David, but in the meantime, I am having a sad. I was expecting Specter at least to last longer considering he had been a gourmet pooch all of his life. V.V

You should only download things like the sims from Origin. Also, if you pirated the game you have to make sure you get the expansions from the same person if you can. I just go to my local game shop and purchase the discs. But when you have like 15 discs to install each and every time something gets corrupted, it tends to get on your nerves xD
