It would be a lot smaller. Well, maybe not a lot... but, if I'm correct, the Barad-dur took about 600 years to build. It was begun in the year 1000, and finished in the year 1600.
**EDIT**To add onto that...
Arwen was born in the year 241
Aragorn was born in the year 2931... that makes Arwen 2,690 years older than him.
Denethor was born in the year 2930, so he's 1 year older than Aragorn.
Theoden was born in the year 2948 - 17 years younger than Aragorn. He was 43 when Eomer was born.
Frodo was born in the year 2968, and Sam and Faramir were born in the year 2983. So Frodo is 15 years older than Sam, and Sam and Faramir are the same age.
Eomer was born in 2991, Eowyn was born in 2995 - 4 year age difference.

Eowyn is 12 years younger than Faramir.
Isn't it fascinating?
Also, there are 5 wizards, that come to Middle Earth over the sea. It is said that they were messengers to rally people against Sauron or something like that, but they weren't allowed to rule people under fear or terror. At least that's how I think it goes - not word for word from the book, of course. Saruman, Gandalf and Radagast were three of the wizards.
I'm referencing off Appendix B, at the end of Return of the King, for anyone who wants to know. :3
