Olivine City. Cheddar leaves the Gym. "You again? There's no need to be alert. I don't bother with Wimps like you." Yeah Cheddar, that's why I wiped you three times. By Nuzlocke rules, your Quilava should be dead. "Speaking of weaklings, the city's Gym Leader isn't here, and is supposedly taking care of a sick Pokemon at the Lighthouse. Hump! Boo-hoo! Just let sick Pokemon go! A Pokemon that can't battle is worthless! Why don't you go train at the Lighthouse? Who knows? It may make you a bit of a better Trainer!" He shoved me again, and left. Wow, Cheddar is an a**hole.

I guess we go to the Lighthouse. Mom! I fought one Trainer, why are you calling again? Okay, thank you for buying an item with my money, probably more berries. A Trainer here used a Full Restore! I got TM87 Swagger, and a Rare Candy. My bat fought some birds. Mother called again. Ah, Jasmine, I made it. Now to go to a pharmacy in Cianwood.
So I guess someone is being kicked off the team for now, for a Surfer. After some thought, I take Septimus out for Flavius the Slowpoke.

Route 40. My encounter is a Tentacool, Lv.21. Named him Bertram. Found TM88 Pluck. Cianwood City. I can only get Tentacool or Tentacruel by surfing, and I forgot to pick up Rock Smash. So I'll skip my encounter for now. I go to where Suicune stands. It runs off and Eusine wants to battle.

He starts with Drowzee, I have Clyve out. We Leech Seed,a nd he misses Hypnosis. We go Poisonpowder, he lands Hypnosis. Well I try to just wait out the Sleep turns, but Drowzee has Dream Eater. So I switch to Rasmus. He tries to withdraw his Drowzee, but we Pursuit to take it out. Electrode is out. I know this thing has Sonicboom. We go Pursuit, he misses Thunder. his next Thunder connects, then misses again. The three Pursuits take him out. Haunter is next. I go Pinecone. We Crunch and it's an OH-KO. Eusine is beat.

I get the SecretPotion from the pharmacy. Then I go pick up Shuckie. Ohhh, yes! Relaxed nature. Gluttony ability too. Now Chuck is a Fighting Type Gym Leader. So Rasmus and Pinecone are not going to be in this battle. I'm also going to officially keep Flavius in the team, as he will be more useful than Septimus. So I guess next is Gym time, a little more training, then Chuck's battle.

I lead with Orana for the Gym Trainers. They were Lv.25-27, her Lv.27. A Hitmonchan had Ice Punch. I should've excepted that. Orana lived on 14 HP, gets the KO and a level up. I switch to Clyve for the last Trainer. Clyve was Screeched, and a Primape was next. So out comes Sandor. Screeched again, so back to Clyve. I set up a Reflect, as he keeps Screeching. Then we Leech Seed, and switch out to Sandor. We Thunder Wave him, he finally attacks with Karate Chop. We Thundershock, knocking him to a sliver of HP, Leech Seed takes him out. We go heal, and now time to train to Lv.31. On just Tentacool and Tentacruel, that also know Supersonic.
Haa, this might take a while. At least we get Sp.Def EVs.

Rasmus finally learned Confuse Ray. Good-bye Tail Whip. Now when do we get Faint Attack? I didn't teach Flavius Water Pulse, as he already has Surf. Also I'm really glad he has Own Tempo. I withheld evolution from Sandor so he could learn Discharge at Lv.31. I replaced Thundershock, then let him evolve. Yeah, we missed Thunder Punch. But his Atk is at 54, while his Sp.Atk is 79. Discharge is far better for him.

Now time to battle Chuck.

"Ooomph! The pounding waterfall right onto my head... Arrgh! Why did you stop the waterfall from pouring on me! You just spoiled my training! I have to warn you that I am strong Trainer training every day under this waterfall! What? It has nothing to do with Pokemon? ... That's true! ... ... Come on. We shall do battle!" Go home Chuck, your wife misses you.

I lead Orana, him Primape. We Confuse Ray, he uses Double Team. Not good, but Wing Attack connects, and knocks him into red. He Double Teams again. He uses a Hyper Potion, Wing Attack lands, and he's back into red. Wing Attack misses, he uses Rock Slide. We can take one more, but a crit will KO Orana. We go for Wing Attack again, misses. Another Rock Slide leave Orana at 23HP. I switch to Flavius. He Rock Slides twice, and Flinched Flavius, who is now at 45HP. Another Rock Slide, Flavius lives on 17HP, hits the Confusion and KO's the Primeape.
Now for Poliwrath. I go for Clyve. "We haven't lost yet!" We start with Reflect. He of course Focus Punches, but I'm hoping the Reflect will help. It did, only 25 damage. He Surfs, and we Magical Leaf. That did barely anything. We go Leech Seed, he Focus Punches. Clyve lives the punch on 10HP. I heal with a Super Potion. He goes for Body Slam. Now Clyve is at 74HP, we Poisonpowder, and of course, another Focus Punch. Reflect just wore off. So lets set another one. "No.. no.. not yet." He Body Slams, we get Reflect back up. He goes into red from Leech Seed and Poison damage, so Chuck uses a Hyper Potion. We Magical Leaf, with Leech Seed and Poison damage Poliwrath in knocked half health in one turn. He Focus Punches, but we Magical Leaf, so no punches this time. Leech Seed finishes the battle.

"We... lost... Hmm... I lost? How about that! All right. You're worthy of the Storm Badge!"
I received the Storm Badge, and TM01 Focus Punch. I also received HM2 Fly from Chuck's wife outside the Gym. I tech that to Orana over Wing Attack. We fly back to Olive City to heal.

I go back to the Lighthouse and give Jasmine the SecretPotion. Amphy is feeling better now, and Jasmine returns to the Gym. Hey guess what? More grinding. Now to level 35. Baoba called, to tell me his Sarfari Zone is now open. I head to Route 39.
I taught Orana Mean Look over Astonish. I don't see me using either of these moves, but felt like Mean Look was a better choice. In the middle of training I deiced to move to Route 40. The Magenmite's Sonicbooms would rack up damage, and Rattata's gave no exp. So more Sp.Def EVs I guess. I taught Pinecone Super Fang over Scary Face. Clyve evolved. I taught him Petal Dance over Magical Leaf. A risky move that'll lock him into battles. But he's mostly here to Leech Seed and Poison.

Gym time!
Now I already fought her Gym Trainers at the Lighthouse. So straight to Jasmine. I don't have anything good against Magnemite. So I lead Cylve, with the intent to Petal Dance.
"Thank you for your help at the Lighthouse. But this is different. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Jasmine, a Gym Leader. I use the... clang! Steel type! Do you know about the Steel type? They are very hard, cold, sharp, and really strong! Um... I'm not lying."
Petal Dance does over half, but Magnemite uses Thunder Wave. She hits Sonicboom, Cylve cannot move. She misses Supersonic, and Petal Dance takes out the first Magnemite.
Next she sends in Steelix. I switch to Rasmus. We go Confuse Ray Steelix hurts itself in confusion. I use a Parlyz Heal on Clyve. Item No.1 for him. Steelix hurts itself again. I switch to Clyve, she Screeches. We Leech Seed, and Steelix Screeches again. I switch to Flavius. Steelix snapped out of confusion and used Sandstorm. She then Iron Tail's, we Yawn. With Sandstorm chip, and Leech Seed heal. Flavius is a little over half HP. We go Disable. Seelix Iron Tails again, then takes a nap. Leech Seed knocks her HP below half, Sitrus berry heals Steelix. I switch to Pinecone, and we Super Fang. Steelix is knocked into red by Leech Seed. Jasmine uses a Hyper Potion. Steelix is still asleep, so we go Super Fang again. We miss. We hit the next Super Fang, Steelix wakes up and uses Sandstorm. We Sucker Punch. She Iron Tails and knocks Pinecone way over half HP. Steelix is left to a sliver, so I switch into Cylve. Steelix Iron Tails, Leech Seed takes her out.
The last Magnemite. I go Sandor. "Properly tempered steel won't be made rusty by things like this!" We go Discharge, get the para, and she Sonicbooms. One last Discharge takes her out.

"Well done... You are a better Trainer than me, in both skill and kindness. In accordance with League rules, I confer upon you this Badge." I received the Mineral Badge, and TM23 Iron Tail.

So I took a break after all the grinding. Once I left the Gym, I picked up the Silk Scarf and Moon Stone my mom bought me. Gave the Silk Scarf to Pinecone. Flew to Ecruteak City. Headed to Route 36, got HM 06 Rock Smash. Back to Ecruteak City and headed east. I forgot to check my berry pots on my break. Well at least I can harvest and re-plant them now.

Route 42. I picked up TM65 Shadow Claw. A hiker gave me HM04 Strength. I let Pinecone Headbutt some trees. A lot. We found nine Spearow, but that's Dupes. We found Aipom, Lv.16. I forgot to buy balls. I caught her in my last Great Ball(only had four). Named her Hazelnut. I bought some balls then returned.

Mt. Mortar. My encounter is a Machop, Lv.15. Named him Gadzooks. Flavius took down a Nidoking and Nidoqueen, then left we the cave. Back onto Route 42. Saw Suicune hiding behind some trees. Ignored it and headed back east. Petal Dance swept through a hikers team of ground types. Then we entered Mahogany Town.

So we head straight to Route 43. I don't care to pay Team Rocket my hard earned cash. So we're going the grassy route to Lake of Rage. Looking for an encounter that's not Dupes'd, we found Entei. Orana bit him and he fled. Good, fear Orana. My encounter is a Girafarig, Lv.15. I'm actually very interested in using this. So I hope she's a good nature. I named her Oxygen. Some guy is flexing his SLowbro at me. I don't even know how he got one at Lv.20.

Lake of Rage. So here's the deal. Static Pokemon are free to catch. Gyarados is Static. I can only find Magikarp in the Lake of Rage, apart from the Gyarados. So I'm just going to ignore the Magikarp, and aim to catch Gyarados. Ah, made use of my Net Balls. Gyarados, Lv.30 is named Jr.. I obtained a Red Scale. When I got out of the lake, Lace was showing off his Dragonite. I talked to him. He didn't tell me much, but wants me to help him investigate something in Mohogany Town.

I fly back to Mohogany Town and check natures in the PokeCenter. Hazelnut is Bold, so that sucks. Gadzooks is Quite, not the best, but I can deal with that. Ohh, Oxygen is Docile. I'd rather a neutral nature than a bad one. I may end up using her one day. Jr. is Gentle. Odd nature for a Gyarados, but okay. Not the end of the world for her. I left the center.

I read a sign next to a building. "Just a Souvenir Shop Nothing Suspicious about it No Need to Be Alarmed." Seems trustworthy enough. Let's check out this shop. I walk in and Lance is there, calling his Dragonite to Hyper Beam a person. Lance you can't do that, that's murder. He asked what took me so long. Sorry I was reading a sign. He then reveals some stairs, and says we should check the place out. Well, I don't want to be Hyper Beam'd by a Dragonite. So Let's go downstairs.

Team Rocket HQ. Well let's start with off with two battles in front of a statue. After that I immediately head down to the computer to turn the surveillance system off. We found a Hyper Potion and a Nugget, so that's cool. We head down more stairs, and find Lance. "Are you all right?'' Yeah, we're fine, we had like three battles coming here. He healed my team anyway. Then ran off. Okay. Rasmus looks so cute following me. But it's a bit disappointing when he's Lv.35, and can't OH-KO a Lv.18 Golbat with Pursuit. Oh, well. Hey, more stairs to go down.
Lance walked over to me. "In order to unlock the door to the radio transmitter, you need the voice of a certain person. The name of the person is Petrel, the Team Rocket Executive! I have found out he is hiding in their leader's office! Unfortunately though, the room is also protected with a password... we need the password to their leader's office first!"
Okay, Lance. Whatever you say. I'm just the muscle here. I found TM49 Snatch. Oh, an Umbreon following me, and then Snatch. Makes me think of Colosseum days. Rasmus had legit not OH-KO'd anything in this base as he grew from Lv.35 to Lv.36. At least he's learning Faint Attack now. We got one password, it was "RATICATETAIL". So I deiceded it was time for Pinecone to be lead of the party. Now to find the second password. Second password is "SLOWPOKETAIL".

I head up a different flight of stairs. One Team Rocket Grunt later, I'm down a different flight of stairs.
Ohh, Cheddar. "So you are messing with them again. Hump, you must really like Team Rocket so much. Tell me, who was the guy in the cape who used Dragon-type Pokemon? My Pokemon were no match at all. I don't care that I lost. I can beat him by getting stronger Pokemon. It's what he said that bothers me... He told me I don't love and trust my Pokemon enough. I'm furious that I lost to a bleeding heart like him. Hump! I don't have the time for the likes of you!" Then he shoved me and walked away. Why does he always shove me? It's so rude! I would've rather a battle. Now to enter the passwords. The door opened.

So Petrel is dressed up as Giovanni. But I see through his disguise somehow. I know I've never met Giovanni before, so I don't know how I could prove that Petrel was not him. But alright. "I am a Team Rocket Executive!You must be trying to sneak into the radio-transmitter room. Well, that's not going to happen. That room is protected with a special password. The passowrd is "Hail Giovanni." Surprised to hear it from me? Knowing the password won't help you though. The door won't open unless I say the password. It only react to my voice."

He sends Zubat. I lead with Sandor. We Discharge. Next is Koffing, another Discharge. Now Raticate. I switch to Flavius. "Hey, you're good!" Raticate uses Crunch, we Surf. Another Crunch, another Surf. Everyone is at Lv.36 now. "I.. I couldn't do a thing... Giovanni, pleas forgive me. Since disbanding Team Rocket three years ago, our Giovanni has been missing. But we're certain he's been waiting for the right time for our revival...Wahahaha! Losing to you won't change the fact that you are unable to get in the radio-transmitter room! You need me voice to unlock it!"

He ran away. Oh! A Murkrow! It shouts "Hail Giovanni" Mimicking Petrel's voice. It runs off, and I follow it. When we get to the doors the Murkrow shouts "Hail Giovanni" to the doors, mimicking Petrel's voive. The doors open. Murkrow ran away. "Hold it right there!" I walk out of the room to see who shouted." Two Team Rocket's run over to me. "We can't let a brat like you do as you please forever. It'll hurt Team Rocket's pride over and over again. Making it lessen, you see. So, it's time to finish you. However strong you may be, if the two of us fight at the same time, you'll have no chance of winning. Don't you agree?" No, I think I could easily take you both. We beat Jasmine. Lance came running in. "Hold it! A two-on-one battle? That is so unfair! Typical of Team Rocket to be so sneaky. Allow me to join the battle!" It's okay Lance, I got this. "What? You had an accomplice? Where is your sense of dignity? As interim boss in place of Giovanni, I'll show you how wrong it is to meddle with Team Rocket!"

Okay. Ariana and Grunt want to battle. Lance is helping me, that's okay I guess. Lance, how did you get a Dragonite at Lv.40? Cheater. I go straight to Discharge, and my Quick Claw let Sandor move first. We paralyzed Dragonite. Dragonite used fly, and Arbok Glared at Dragonite, missing it's move. So we just Discharge again. Clearing the flied, accept for Dragonite. Dragonite landed, because there were no targets to hit. Ohh, a Murkrow. I don't want to KO a Murkrow. Murkrow Nightshade's the Dragonite. We reluctantly use Discharge, KOing it. I switch to Orana for Gloom. Gloom Mega Drains, and Dragonite is fully paralyzed. We Fly and Gloom uses Sweet Scent. Dragonite can't move again.

"Tch, you really are strong. It's too bad. If you were to join Team Rocket, you could become Executive." I've once dreamed of joining Team Rocket in these games. That'd be fun. "But that's fine. The broadcast experiment was a total success. It doesn't matter what happens to this hideout now. We have much bigger plans. You'll come to appreciate Team Rocket's true power soon enough. Enjoy yourself while you can." Team Rocket left. We enter the Radio Transmitter room. "It's this machine that's causing all the problems. I don't see a switch on it. We have no choice We have to make all the Electrode faint. That should stop this machine from transmitting that strange signal. It's no fault of the Electrode, so it makes me feel sad. Let's split the job." Lance, you know Electrode just faint themselves with Explosion, right?

I switch to Clyve out front. Team Rocket HQ encounter is Electrode, Lv.23. I named it El Toro. We KO the other two Electrode.We met up with Lance again. "That odd signal has finally stopped. The lake should be back to normal. You're the best! Let me thank you on behalf of all the Pokemon." You don't have to go that far. "Oh, yes. You should take this. I found it here, but I don't have any need for it." I obtained HM05 Whirlpool. "The journey to becoming the Pokemon Champion is long and difficult. Knowing that, will you keep going?" I mean, yeah. Someone has to tell Red to get down from that mountain. "I see. No, you're right. If you would give up that easily, you would have never chased that dream in the first place. I look forward to seeing you again!" He left.

So before leaving the Team Rocket HQ, I pickup TM46 Thief. I leave the TR HQ. Guess, what? Mother called. She bought some items with my money. Thank you, mom. I harvest my Oran Berries, from the pots.
Gym Time! So Clyve Petal Danced some Seel and Dewgong. Flavius took out some Swinub. Sandor, some Shelder, and Cloyster. Time for Pryce. I lead Pinecone.
"Pokemon have many experiences in their lives, just like we do. I, too, have seen and suffered much in my life. Since I am your elder, let me show you what I mean. I have been training Pokemon since before you were born. I do not lose easily. I, Pryce--the Winter Trainer--- shall demonstrate my power!"
He leads Seel. Pinecone Headbutts Seel flinches. We go for the Sucker Punch, but Pryce Hyper Potions. We Headbutt, Seel used Icy Wind. Lowering Pinecone's speed. We Crunch for the KO. Pryce is going to send out Piloswine, I switch to Flavius. Piloswine Mud Bombs, we Surf. We take him down to half HP, he eats a Sitrus berry. Another Mud Bomb, another Surf. Piloswine is still in the yellow, so Pryce may not heal him next turn. He uses Blizzard, it connects. Flavius is KO'd. It wasn't even a crit! How?! I go to Pinecone. He Headbutts for the KO. Next is Dewgong. I go to Sandor. Dewgong uses Aurora Beam, we Discharge, it's almost a OH-KO, but a sliver of HP was left. "Willow is my middle name. Willow is flexible and not easily broken. I'm not giving up yet." I'm sure that means you'll use a potion. He proved me wrong. Pryce used a Full Restore. We Discharge again, back down to a sliver of HP. He Rests. Ugh, Pryce why? We Discharge again. This time it's a OH-KO, I guess we got a high roll.

"Hmm. Seems as if my luck has run out. I am impressed by your prowess. With your strong will, I know you will overcome all life's obstacle. You are worthy of this Badge!"
I received Glacier Badge from Pryce. I also got TM07 Hail. Ohh, now to bury my dead, and train a new team member. Pryce you said you'd teach me life's hard lessons, and you've done just that.

Leaving the Gym, Prof. Elm called. Something weird is happening with the radio broadcasts. They're talking about Team Rocket. Wow, that's a surprise, as I just stopped their Radio Transmission tests at their HQ. Who knows, maybe Team Rocket has returned. That'd be frightening. I go to the PokeCenter and bury Flavius. He was my Surfer. Now what do I do? I know I have a Gyarados and a Tentacool. But I'm not to keen to use another Gyarados in a HG/SS play-through. And I already have a Poison type with Crobat.
I'll just think on this. My next post will have my new team member, and it'll be trained up to match my team.

So I chose Bertram, the Tentacool. Trained him up to Lv.35, he evolved within that time. To Goldenrod City. So Team Rocket is everywhere in the city. I head to the radio tower, underground, back at the radio tower. Cheddar runs in. He blows my cover of pretending to be a new Team Rocket grunt to get by the grunts, and get to the top of the tower. Now I have to battle everyone. Thanks, Cheddar. You totally know what you're doing. My first battle with Bertram, that isn't wild Pokemon. He's Sucker Punched by a Raticate, and it's a crit. Good start!

"I see. You were trying to be sneaky... Huh! A typical idea of the meek! No matter. I'll let you handle this." Yeah Cheddar, ruin my plan and then run away. Who's the real coward here? We clear the second floor. A Muk poisons Rasmus before it's KO'd. The grunt tells me "don't be cute." But come on, it's an Umbreon. Of course it's cute. We finish the last grunt on the floor, then go back to heal.

Third floor. I let Pinecone up front. He gets his level up. So Orana is out next. That was a fun floor. Next one. It's kinda cute seeing so Zubat and Golbat try to take on my Orana, a Crobat. She got her level up. So now Bertram is a lowest level of the team again. Ahh, I made it to the top. The directors room. I go to talk to him, you know, to make sure he's alright. "Ahem, do you hear me? I am the Director. We have decided to broadcast wonderful shows to praise Team Rocket ! Everyone, I don't want to hear you complain. Just do a good job to." Hey director, why are you saying such things? "Yikes! I am busy impersonating the... Who are you? Oh no, it's you again?" Oh, he reveled himself to be Petrel. "No, no, no! I was pretending to be the director to influence the entire region to support Team Rocket! This time I won't hold back! Give me all you've got !"

So I'm challenged by Executive Petrel. I start with Bertram. We can't be poisoned, and he can self-destruct, go Barrier first. We Barrier a second time. Koffing has done 11 damage to us so far. Now to Surf. Next is Weezing, we stay in. Another Surf. Koffing, Surf it. Bertram gets a level up. Koffing, Surf again, and repeat that two more times. "OK, OK, I'll tell you where he is." Apparently he is in the underground warehouse. Petrel is also stupid, he gave me the Basement Key to get to the director.
