it depends what you like!

I highly recommend the kite runner, though trigger warning for some deep stuff I can't mention here. Extremely well written, I'm in love with this book and it's probably my favorite.

The wonderling is another good one! It's a bout a fox kid who grows up in an orphanage for others like him, and the book is about his journey I suppose to discover himself. Lovable characters and kind of heart warming!

There is also kid lawyer: theodore boone. I havent read these ones in a long while but I think they're fun to read, if you like simple mystery books.

I have many more recommendations, feel free to pm me.

Well, I really love Warrior Cats but I'm not sure if that's the best for a new reader

Well, since you're on Chicken Smoothie, I'd assume you like animals to SOME extent, right? I'd recommend Warrior Cats.

They're made for middle schoolers, so they're decently short. They should be easy enough to read/comprehend, but even if I did just label it as a "childrens book" last sentence, the story is AMAZING! (And sometimes brutal lol)

A quick Google search on the series should help set you on your way when it comes to the order of the books, but IMHO, you should start with the original series (The Prophecy Begins) and not the prequel series (Dawn of the Clans).

one of my favorite reads was Illuminae by Amy Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (the first book of a trilogy)
it is a sci-fi novel set far in the future with very advanced technology, but the format is so refreshing,
and it is definitely worth the read (plus it is a much quicker pace, so it does not feel like a 600+ page novel)

First Light
First Light is a young adult science fiction and mystery novel by Rebecca Stead, first published in 2007. The novel follows Peter, who is in Greenland with his father and mother for research on global warming, and Thea, who lives in Gracehope, an underground colony located below Greenland.
The Outsiders
It tells the story of 14-year-old Ponyboy Curtis and his two older brothers, Soda and Darry. The boys are orphans and struggle to stick together in their lower-class neighborhood, known as the East Side. They and their friends are part of a gang of working class tough street boys called the Greasers.

I'm not sure what sort of books your looking for, but I'll suggest some of the teen/young adult books I've enjoyed.

The Mark of the Dragonfly (Jaleigh Johnson) spoiler for first chapter or two
Comets fall from the sky and bring items from other worlds, and scrappers go out after storms to find valuable items the comets have brought. The protagonist is a young girl from one of these scrapper towns, who goes out in the middle of a comet storm (that is strictly forbidden due to how dangerous it is) and sees a caravan get hit by one of these comets. She pulls a girl from the wreckage, and discovers she bears the mark of one of the houses in the country over, and sets out with the girl and a friend in order to return the girl to her home.

The Inheritance Cycle (Christopher Paolini)
A young boy finds a dragon egg, and then a lot of stuff happens. I really don't know how to tell you anything else without MAJORLY spoiling a lot.

The Wild Girls (Pat Murphy)
A rulebreaker and a rulefollower discover they have a lot in common. Very heartwarming.

A Long Way From Chicago (Richard Peck)
Two city kids go out to the country to live with their grandma who doesn't always follow the law.

The Witch of Blackbird Pond (Elizabeth George Speare)
If you can't get into this now, try again in a few years. I couldn't at first, but it was seriously so good once I tried again a couple years later. A young girl makes friends with a witch, in a time and place where if a girl could swim she was thought a witch.

The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle (Avi)
A young girl becomes a sailer, or a pirate, I don't remember for sure. It's super against society's expectations though, either way, and it is SO good I read it in like two sittings.

The Rats of Nimh
Full confession, this one might be for like early middle schoolers and I just don't remember, but it's SO good I promise. A momma mouse needs to move her home, and asks some really smart rats for help.
