what's everyone's favourite part about DnD?

I'm taking it upon myself to revive this thread ,, I want to find friends on here who are into d&d! I'd love to talk about character design ideas/builds, current characters y'all are playing, current games y'all are running, and I can answer newbie questions to the best of my ability! I've been playing for almost 5 years :3 I'm mostly a player who makes too many characters to realistically play, but i do have a little dm experience! <3

I’ve never played D&D, I have a character named Jasper though. Covid happened before my friend group could start anything, so now I just have a character collecting dust

We were all going to play D&D because of the school play (which we were in) the play is called ‘She Kills Monsters’ and the whole play is based around D&D, man it’s such a good story. It’s a shame everything got shut down before we could do it

dang that sucks,, have you guys tried doing it virtually? It's not ideal, but my little group meets virtually every other week over discord,, it's better than nothing for us!

what's everyone's favourite part about DnD?

My group's dm has a very large threshold for player antics, and we get into some crazy junk sometimes lol
I've laughed until i've cried more than once
I've also actually sobbed because things got so sad
The emotional range that a well-tailored campaign can let you experience is my absolute favorite thing about the game

We want to do it virtually on discord, but the DM that’s setting it up hasn’t done much to the server besides a few minor things.
