most of the outrage over stuff was just from hearing info of the stream out of context but the joke about bow's brother "sow" offended a lot of people even with context. it's not my place to forgive the creators for it, but many POC didn't accept the apology made by the show's creator.
I watched a short clip of that, and that's one I see as completely unfunded. The creators said that the whole thing about his brothers is that their names rhyme with "Bow" and that correlates with what they like doing. Why is it a problem that a POC would enjoy farming? It really seems to me like nitpicking a wonderfully diverse show just to find a fault and blow it out of proportion, to somehow make it look terrible and ignore all the wonderful things they've done.
It's cancel culture at its worst. A popular cartoon made one of its main characters not white, so people are only interested in finding ways how they did it wrong instead of seeing the show for all it is. It saddens me, really.
We're not black and I won't make any comments on this, but I will link this post which was created by a black creator and explains why the joke was racist with a lot of needed context.
I will also note that the creator did own up to it, stated that they do not want people to defend them, and requested not to harass fans that are harmed by this. It's not cancel culture that people are holding them accountable for what was a racist joke. It's completely understandable that black people would be upset by this kind of joke, so let them be upset and let them speak about it.
Let me know if I'm overstepping boundaries, again we are not black, but I did notice this thread and noticed no one else had jumped in explaining what specifically was wrong with the joke and no one else had mentioned Noelle's own comments on what happened. I also had the explanations on hand because we never closed the page from yesterday.
