I really like Scorfuma too! It's definitely one that snuck up on me honestly but when I saw it happening it just felt right, and it made me happy that she's able to move on from Catra to be with someone who is healthy for her! I also kind of shipped Perfuma with Huntara after the whole Desert Rose episode though!!

Even though it was arguably a bit expected I also really like Bow and Glimmer together, they have a definite destined for each other kinda vibe just like Catra and Adora and it felt really important to me personally to see a character acknowledged as bi/pan/not straight paired with someone of the opposite gender not to appease an audience or network, but because it was right for them and they're still validated as who they are, if that makes sense? Relationships generally were handled phenominally by this show.

Does anyone else wonder if a movie or some other continuation might be in the works? I went into Season 5 fully knowing that it would be the end, but what Bow said at the end of the last episode kind of made me wonder...

Aah I'm so happy there's a thread for this! Honestly the amount of amazing lgbt+ rep and also like, strong/relatable female characters in this show amazes me. I think I probably cried at least a few times during each season because of how much I wish there had been a show like this when I was a kid. I thought the ending to season 5 was perfect and it honestly left me kind of reeling in the best way possible? I was NOT expecting them to actually fulfill on catradora and it really meant a lot. I also thought Catra's redemption arc was really well done. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better/more meaningful show!

I was going berserk trying to find a thread like this haha.
Warning. Spoilers will be present! Only read if you haven't watched Season 5!

Oh man. Let me just say. The show just couldn't end better!! It was so well done. I liked everything about it haha.
I enjoyed seeing Glimmer and Catra slowly warm up to each other when they were prisoners on Horde Prime's ship. When Catra sacrificed herself to save Glimmer/Adora I cried! When Adora saves Catra from Horde Prime, I cried! When Catra and Adora kissed, I practically flooded the room by crying so much! I, uh, cried a lot xD
I'm also very happy that they had Netossa and Spinnerella in it more, as I felt like they weren't in it much in the other seasons. Can I also just say, Catra getting water-sprayed by Netossa was brilliant. One of my favourite moments.
I was praying that Catradora would become canon, and clearly the gods heard my wishes and granted it! I just now have to figure out how to go on with life as normal without thinking about them kissing every second of the day...

I'm also now a proud Scorfuma shipper. I'm kinda glad that Scorpia has found someone other than Catra, but I was so happy when Catra and Scorpia made up and hugged. It was so sweet. i wish i could have a hug with Scorpia
The Star Siblings were also great, but I wish they were in more episodes.
The way they represented LGBTQ+ characters was ever-the-more fantastic!! : D

So... sorry for the longgg reply, I really needed somewhere to just say how I felt about it haha

I totally forgot to check in on this thread for a while whoops ^^; But yeah I thought that the Star Siblings were super interesting characters and it's kind of a shame that we didn't get more time with them! With everything about a potential movie floating around now though, I definitely have a feeling that we'd see them again if that became a thing, and that the plot would surround their finale plans to bring magic back to the rest of the universe.

How would everyone feel about a She-Ra movie in the future? What loose ends would you like to see it address if we did get one? Personally I would hope that we learn more about Catra's past and why she was in Shadow Weaver's care the same way we did with Adora!

Looking to the future though, has everyone seen Finn's design???? I absolutely love them and I wonder if they would ever feature as a character in any films or comics or w/e we might get going forward

Ahh I'm sad to see this thread isn't more active!
I recently watched the series and I must say it's my favorite cartoon in a LONG while!!
Majority female characters, and written beautifully? Different kinds of body types and not a single fat joke around? LGBTQ+ character representation?? God I could cry just thinking about it. Speaking of crying, I think I had a total of 8 cries through the whole show, worst one must have been for the Queen and when Glimmer had to cope with it. ;v;

So, for those who have seen it - what did you think of the finale? Did anything surprise you?

What have been your favourite characters and moments in the show and why?

Did you ever watch the original? How does it compare to this one?

What are your favourite pieces of She-Ra fan art and appreciation? Have you made any yourself? Share those here too!

I was very surprised! The kiss had been spoiled for me a little (since everyone was, rightfully so, raving about it everywhere), but it was still such a breath of fresh air in the world of forced heterosexuality in every piece of media.

I think my top 5 has got to be, roughly in order: Entrapta, Spinnerella, Mermista, Scorpia and Glimmer. But I swear nearly every major character had their moment when I nearly went "that!! that is my favorite!!"

I did not watch the original as it was never aired here, but I've seen clips from it, as well as the He-man show. And I've looked at the character comparisons, and wow. The new cartoon has come SO FAR in every way imaginable. Character designs, animation, overall style, representation - it's all so beautifully done.

I'm actually working on art of my faves right now, which is what made me seek out this thread hah!

this thread is kinda dead, but did anyone watch the panel yesterday? i was really disappointed in the crew.
i'm not sure if it can be discussed much on CS but there was a panel for the show yesterday and it was very controversial. a lot of the drama was stuff taken out of context but there was one really offensive joke.

I havent seen the pannel itself, but a short google search lead me to this, which says that most of the (what I assume was, again, didn't watch it myself) the outrage was misinterpreted or not said by the team itself?

most of the outrage over stuff was just from hearing info of the stream out of context but the joke about bow's brother "sow" offended a lot of people even with context. it's not my place to forgive the creators for it, but many POC didn't accept the apology made by the show's creator.

I watched a short clip of that, and that's one I see as completely unfunded. The creators said that the whole thing about his brothers is that their names rhyme with "Bow" and that correlates with what they like doing. Why is it a problem that a POC would enjoy farming? It really seems to me like nitpicking a wonderfully diverse show just to find a fault and blow it out of proportion, to somehow make it look terrible and ignore all the wonderful things they've done.
It's cancel culture at its worst. A popular cartoon made one of its main characters not white, so people are only interested in finding ways how they did it wrong instead of seeing the show for all it is. It saddens me, really.
