Not to bust into the conversation, but in X and Y, you don't have to have the Pokemon in your Pokedex to ask for it from the GTS! I got that from the official site, so it's real. The first Pokemon Center I get to, I get the other two starters, level 1 of course! I find it fun to train Pokemon from the beginning.

And you know that everyone will want to trade starters when the game is first released. You know how people just keep breeding them from their own starter for trading fodder? There are always those people that hatch way too many eggs so they will take even the most pathetic Pokemon for one of their level 1 starters! (Plan made! )

Ya but what are you going to trade for them? And I'm sure there won't be a breeding center right a the beginning of the game. It will probably be in the middle. And even if they are for trade fodder. I'm sure they won't trade it for pokemon they can catch easily at the first of the game.. Not to mention.. I'm pretty sure the GTS will only trade with X and Y games. And at the very beginning. There won't be many good pokemon to trade for.

Yes but soul silver was a remake.. Not a brand new game. It could trade with diamond and pearl GTS.. X and Y GTS will only to be able to trade with X and Y. And since everyone is getting it on the very same day. Even japan. There won't be that good of pokemon to trade for or have every good pokemon to trade at the beginning.

My best bet. Wait a couple of days or a week. I'm sure a lot of people will have it finished by then and will start trading.

So anyways.... Which starter are you guys choosing? Personally, I'm waiting to see their evolutions but I like Fennekin and Chespin.
