And what did I catch?

None other than a shiny Patrat XD. Completely out of the blue.

Rnging hates me in that gen. For some reason I can't do it right were there is roaming NPC's but I can do it fine were there are none. ;_;

Going to have to re-read over everything to see where I'm going wrong... it should be fun. /sarcasm/

A VERY frustrating but easier way to get shinies/flawless pokemon without using a action replay or cheating device.

Smogon.com wrote:What is RNG Manipulation?

There are many seemingly random events in Pokemon: the IVs and natures of the Pokemon that you capture or breed, the number of steps an NPC walks before turning, or the odds that your newly hatched Oshawott is shiny. As it turns out, these events are all governed by the output of a class of mathematical formulas, which are known as pseudo random number generators. The word "pseudo", often used to paint things as "fraudulent" or "false," is very appropriate in this case. Even though the numbers output by these formulas may appear to be random, they are not. Each sequence begins with a single number, often referred to as a seed, and continues on in a predictable pattern.

Since the seed determines the sequence of numbers that will follow, it is important that it is different each and every time you play. If the same seed was chosen each time, the pattern of numbers and how they affect the game would be noticeable over time, breaking the illusion of randomness. To alleviate this potential problem, the game developers decided to create the seed by using something that should be different every time you play: the date and time on your Nintendo DS. By doing some light math on the individual components (year, month, hour, etc.) of the date and time, a "unique" seed is created each time you start the game.

There is an obvious flaw in this technique-we can change the date and time on our Nintendo DS systems before we start the game. With knowledge of how the date and time affect the seed, it is possible to choose a combination that yields a desirable result, allowing us to control the sequence of pseudo-random numbers that is generated. Coupled with the knowledge of how the game uses those numbers to create Pokemon, we become the creators, picking and choosing desirable traits, removing any remaining vestiges of randomness.

I still haven't been able to RNG ANYTHING xD even with Gembell's amazingly simple tutorial, my timing is always off or the seed I have never matches the seed I'm looking for xD

So with RNGing you can control stuff like Shiny Pokemon?! Whoa... Of course, I probably never will use this method, especially as I have a Nuzlocke going at the moment and it does not pay to cheat...
Sounds cool though :D I've actually never caught a Shiny before or even seen one that I can remember. I don't mind - I've never been interested in shinies personally.
Bullying? Think you're SO cool?
The girl you just called fat...she's overdosing on diet pills.
The girl you just called skinny...she eats so much she feels sick afterward.
The girl you just called ugly... she spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her.
The boy you just tripped... he is abused enough at home.
See that man with the ugly scars... he fought for his country.
That guy you just made fun of for crying... his mother is dying.
Feel free to put this in your signature if you agree with me.

Right now on Black 2 I have a Snivy and two Lucario. EV training after beating the poision gym, hopefully I can trade my roomate for some EV reducing berries because I messed up Snivy a bit xD
These are for the fan fiction I'm writing, the main character has a knack of seeing which pokemon bring out what strengths when battling. Kinda worried about making her a Mary Sue though ._.z

I don't actually count RNGing as cheating as it can take at least 2-3 hours to do it successfully and it's mentally draining to say the least xD but it can take the fun out of a Nuzlock so maybe after you're done you can give it a shot :D

Hm, does anyone have a Light Ball they're willing to trade (the item for Pikachu)?
I have a level 70 or level 100 Heatran to pay for it.
