Twilight doesn't deserve to be popular. It just sucks. What it deserves is to be one of those cheap books at the true dollar stores where everything is a dollar or less.. because that should be as much as anyone's willing to buy it. It is a disgrace to literature. I don't see how it ended up in the spotlight in the first place.

It ended up in the spotlight because it attracted the right people - teenage girls. Teenage girls then read it, and were hypnotized and convinced themselves they were sparkling vampires, and fell in love with a fictional fairy/vampire hybrid named Edward, who was supposed to be perfect but was far from it.

It targets the teenage girls who want the "perfect" boyfriend who's way of showing affection is to stalk the girl of his dreams.

I think the reason everyone liked Twilight so much is because the characters were developed but not enough so that you can't think of them as yourself. I mean, I like to read books where I can put myself in the main characters position.lol
