And for those of you saying that we only hate twilight because it's the "cool" thing to do, I read twilight because everyone in my school reads it and it was the "cool" thing to do. And you know what? Everyone in my school still loves it. So how am I the "cool" one because I don't like it? And in case you hadn't noticed, twilight doesn't even deserve to be capitalized.

Then you are making a grammatical error since it is a proper noun. ;) I said I dislike how some dislike Twilight because it's cool. I didn't refer to any of you in particular. I just said the people who do that rather seem childish to me. Anyways, I don't like if you like it because you think it's cool and I don't like if you don't like it because you think it's cool. To me basing your opinions on what you think is cool is childish.

Yeah well, to me bashing people who are just stating their honest opinions on a thread that you shouldn't even be on is childish. WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE IF ALL YOU'RE GOING TO DO IS CRITICIZE WHAT EVERYONE SAYS? Do you see any of us going to a twilight lovers thread and demanding why those people like twilight to find out if they just like it because they think it's the cool thing to do? I think not. We don't even go to those threads at all because we know that if we say something, all that's going to do is cause trouble. We respect you and give you your own space to talk about twilight without interfering, why can't you do the same?

All I can say to what that Whiskas person said way back (A few pages ) is this-

As a writer, and someone who is serious about literacy as not only a pastime but a true cultural skill that is being lost to the general public, can quite honestly put in one chapter of a novel more intricate and 3 dimensional characters, a higher quality of descriptive paragraphs, a higher level of vocabulary (Used correctly and not just strewn about like SMeyer did to her books) and infinite amounts more of originality, then Smeyer put in all four of her books combined.

She even said this, when asked in an interview what she was thinking of when she wrote the books:

"Oh, I wasn't really thinking of anything while i wrote this."

She also said elsewhere that there was 'No main idea," and elsewhere still, "there was no plot or moral."

Whatever you people are getting out of this is utter crap.

And I've read all four books.

If the writer even admitted she didn't even put any thought or plot in to the book then how did it get so gosh darn popular? o.o I just can't grasp the concept as to how it got so popular..

Because there are a lot of pre-teen, teen girls who want to think that they'd attract a guy who would be more awesome than anyone else's guy ever, who would build his whole life around them, and who would make them live forever and then also help them understand they are the most beautiful, magical, and awesome women in existance. Also Ed is never fully discribed so he could always look like their "one true love at school omg".

... they also apparently want their newborn, badly-named babies "mated for life" with one of their (their aged) love interests--just so no one gets left out.

But that's utterly irrational and if I ever met a guy like that I would bash him in the head! What makes a person perfect is their imperfections, but perfect to you. That's what real love is, loving someone flaws and all. I could never stand someone who had no flaws or looked perfect. I honestly wouldn't be able to, I don't understand such attractions! But I'm also 23 and have been trying to become a writer ever since I had my first book read to me in kindergarten(it was the alphabet tree, i love that childrens book). XD

When you're young you don't look for love. You look for a "perfect date". Popular guys are in, and dear Ed is as popular as it gets.

I just wished she'd gone to College in the end... maybe it was for the best in the end though! Bella may not have survived, seeing as she decided the most romatic connection she could make to her and Ed's relationship in literature was Romeo and Juliet (now I can see the connection but that's not a good way to think of a romance. If twilight was a parody of R&J, then I would enjoy the book more. Sadly, there is no mocking humor in the writing--the author takes every word so seriously.)

I agree with you, Slyfan.
All of you twilight (not capitalizing) lover who come over here and scream at us for disliking it, and calling US childish.... how about you read your posts again? Twice? Then maybe you'll realize who's the childish one here. Here's what I have to say to you: Get out of this thread, if you really love twilight so much. You can talk on twilight lovers threads, and we wouldn't even THINK of bothering you. And if you're one of those people who are immature enough to just WANT an argument, I can't do anything to stop you. Just keep in mind that we're not the immature ones. It's you.

Well I haven't read the books, so I can't really say anything about those... but the Movie? Ugh. I mean.... I watched it... and could only watch half of it because it was just too boring, and that's saying something because I'm very open minded about movies. One of the movie's problems was that Bella? They focused on her trying to find out what Edward was way too long. It just took her way too long for her to realize Edward was a vampire. The main problem I had with the movie was the horrible acting. I've taken Drama 1 & 2, so I can tell when there is bad acting, especially since I'm so used to good acting.

The fact that the vampires sparkled... did bother me. I mean, yea... I've heard of hybrid vampires that don't get badly effected by sunlight.... but sparkle? Come now, vampires have been scary for a long time now. They drink your blood. They feed off of you. They kill things. Sure there's vampires who have more seductive characteristics... But sparkles? It's like they're trying to put them in a world of unicorns, rainbows, smiling suns, and soda rivers. I think they just made sparkly vampires just so it'd appeal to the young girls 14 and below... then added a supposed 'hawt' person to play as Edward to appeal to the older girls... Then added fighting scenes in the end to try to appeal to the guys.

It just wasn't a good movie and really didn't make me want to check out the books.

I'm in major need of help naming hundreds of nameless pets. Most of the pets ungrouped, in my growing groups, and all the pets in the "In Need of a Name" group need names. Please help? o.o
