You are entitled to your "oinion" sure. But you're kind of telling us we are (1) reading/watching/liking "boring myths" (2) not able to write (3) unoriginal. ... If you are not here to change our minds, prey tell why are you on this thread which was made for people who don't like Twilight talking about how we are wrong in our opinion?

Sparkles may be original, but they aren't really given a reason for existing. "Attract prey" can be put down to charm and good looks--sparkles throw people off and would likely may their "prey" run away from them. There is no logic in the sparkles and thats why they are a laugh... not because they divert from the myth but because they exist just for the sake of being sparkily.

Also if you think logically how do they sparkle? I've never herd of a skin that sparkles before, nor a fur or scale. Only stones. No matter how hard their skin is it is still skin. Unless there are stones in their skin, then the next question should be if there are stones sparkling in their skin when the light hits even when they aren't in the sun they would sparkle a little so.. Another question should be how do they sparkle? The only thing in nature that I can think of that sparkles would sparkle don't match those vampires.

You have a good point, sparkles wouldn't attract prey, they would scare them off. No matter how strong or fast a vampire is unless their vampires in the story are ineffective hunters with a sparkle flaw that scares people or freaks them out which would make they or most animals run off- what IS the point of them sparkling? Because attract prey certainly doesn't cover it. Nothing about it makes any sense at all.

Unless you haven't seen the film, you saw how Bella reacted to the sparkles. She didn't run away or be scared. She thought it was beautiful, making her want to go closer.

In case you haven't noticed, Bella is a fictional character, following a script. And, if I remember correctly, the Cullens hunt animals (can't say for sure cause I've never read the book or seen the film). Most animals would probably flee from something sparkly.

I know enough about it. I think it's completely idiotic, and I think that it totally mangles the reputation of vampires. They're vicious, bloodthirsty killers. Not sparkly schoolboys.
