The nice thing is, if you go to the wiki and look at any character sheet, they'll have a list of errors and alternate pictures of the cat depending on how badly the Hunters screwed up their description. Firestar's been referred to as golden, dark red, having amber eyes, etc.

The inconsistency in the books is pretty bad =\ In the beginning of the series, there was a ShadowClan tom named Rowanpaw/claw/star, who in The New Prophecy gender-switched to a she-cat, and then back to a tom again in Starlight.

They made him mates with Tawnypelt so they didn't get confused with gender lmao
but I think Dovewing's eyes are rainbow constantly being confused and changed.
