I made a Traditional Clan, and it went down hill. I suddenly realize how much people don't know what "Traditional" is? Well, I tried to explian, they went like "so wut u suck" and left. I feel very lonely now, that she/he though -breeze was Traditional.


P.S her/his reaction was, but -breeze was in the books?!?!?!? soooo why cannnttt I uuussee iuuut???????>.....??!!!1111!??

I actually didn't know what traditionalism was until I found this thread xD I don't think it's a very widespread idea within the fandom.

It could just be a lot of little kids on that site who don't want to hear that their Mosspool or Auroraeyes is illogical.

Some names that are strange aren't illogical :3

Would Arctictail make sense? A pure snowy white cat with blue eyes (who is deaf), a long tail, and is very agile. I actually made this cat, and she has a reason to have become a warrior. Though she didn't pick up on moves by being told, she watched closely and never gave up, never knowing that cats thought she'd never be a warrior...

I'm almost positive that Arctictail isn't a 'traditional' name (wth is traditional naming anyway o-e) but it makes sense, if you put together what I described about her. Right?

It isn't. The general rule of traditionalism is that if the cats don't know it exists, it shouldn't be a name. If the cats live in the Arctic, sure, but if they don't, they wouldn't really use it as a name.

Of course, there are alternatives. Snow-, Ice-, Frost-, Blizzard-, etc, which carry the same feeling. But, it is up to you.

I too highly doubt that, but it might work depending on location. Also, to kill you, I'd need a little something from Hannah...

I actually kind of like Egret. I made a background cat called Egretfoot, and I am rather fond of him.

well, they do have egrets in the uk, so depending on the location of the clan, its a plausible name. if they were a coastal fanclan, especially in the south or west of england and in wales, then there would be plenty of little egrets. great white egrets are found pretty much anywhere where its wet haha. its good traditional name for a white cat, if the location works. is that a canon name? bc if so i can see the problem. creekrush is pretty godawful.

Yeah, Creekrush is pretty bad, but I like egret names. They work fantastically.
Also, Egret is indeed for a white OR, better yet, A white cat with a bit of pale ginger (For the beak).
As an example, Egretfoot is a shortfurred white tom with a tad of pale ginger on the top of his head and his tail.
