I have so many, lol. These three shows are retired but don't let that stop you from watching! These particular three, are worth watching multiple times, actually. And the least they deserve is a chance! Let's see...
#1 Monk
When you think hilarious comedy, is a crime show what comes to mind? No, of course not. Think again my friend. I could really go on about this show for hours but what it comes down to is this, Monk is a good man with unfortunate problems. He has severe OCD and dozens hundreds of phobias that prevent him from living a normal life. He worked as a detective before he had a nerveous break-down when his only support cushion, his wife, Trudy, was murdered, violently and brutally (in a car bomb). And though Adrian Monk is a genuis detective, known for solving dozens of hard-to-break cases, some of them even cold, he just can't figure out his wife's murder.
Great show. It really has to be to be my number one favorite show of ALL time. (I watch a lot of tv, lol)
#2 Desperate Housewives
Yes, the show revolves around four housewives in a suburb. But THIS is NOT reality tv. Far from it. If you've ever seen reality tv shows revolving around houswives you've gotten one of two possible impressions. One being all housewives live super boring, 'why am I even alive' lives. Desperate housewives is about desperate housewives. One of them is desperate for love, another desperate for a fairy tale life, and still another desperate for a career (yes some of these housewives have jobs and/or want them), so they do not in any way, shape, or form live boring lives. The other impression you might've gotten from watching housewife reality tv is that housewives are the brattiest (or some other word I cannot say) women around, constantly yelling at their neighbors, 'friends', and aquaintances; if you've gotten this impression you are/were probably horrified. Don't be. That's nothing on Desperate housewives. Don't get me wrong, desperate housewives is still NOT a reality show and the characters do not constatly scream and throw things. No, they all seem to have a much more passive aggresive way of getting revenge. You should REALLY watch this show if you like drama the tiniest bit, because this shows turns drama on it's head and pivots it. If not, however, another show might be better. Fourty-five minutes feels twice as long when you watch this show. Good if you want to soak it in (it's rich with soak-able drama).
#3 How I Met Your Mother (a.k.a. HIMYM) and
Okay first things first, this show does not quench your curioisty for who the mother is until the last season. So, with that in mind, this is a great show to watch for comedy and a little drama. There's not really much to the episodes other than a string of events that happen to the characters, but you'll be amazed how quickly you get addicted to the characters. I am warning you very seriously now, however, after you watch the first six or so episodes if you are not at least 80% rooting for Robin+Ted you should stop watching. The last episode was kind of a flop with most viewers (not me though ^.^). The only ones who really liked the ending and were completely satisfied were the die hard Robin+Ted fans. So after six episodes (this is all it takes to really be sure) if you are more of 'but what about the mom?' viewer you will most likely not like the ending. However if you get addicted and can't stop watching anyway, there is an 'official' alternate ending on youtube you can watch for the last four minutes of the very last episode in the series (there are nine seasons btw).
Well, those are my top three, I probably should stop there before I go and get crazy on here, lol.I have so many, lol.
