Ahh, I didn't know there was a D&D thread!
I experienced my first campaign about a year ago. Gosh, I miss those guys...I wish there were more people near me who liked to play. I've found a few people interested but none of us know how to DM.
My character was a chaotic-good Elven Ranger named Horben. He was an archer, and rode a llama named Paul (until Paul was killed by a stupid dwarf). He had an self-refilling Ale Mug that was a gift from a wizard, so our company was completely drunk 50% of the time. My friend, who played a 12-foot tall robot, once dug a hole in the ground and held my mug upside down for an hour to make a "beer pool" to swim in.
My sister played another Elven Ranger, also an archer. She had a llama named Carl and was an expert on everything - literally she spent all her skill points on knowledge. So she spoke all kinds of languages and never had to roll for a knowledge check.
Another friend we played with had a half-elf wizard character who had a peg-leg (long story, he crit-fumbled and got his foot stuck in a toilet during combat and one of us had to chop it off to save him). One of his enchanted objects was an orb that could shoot rainbow slime and blind enemies. We called it his "Nyan cat orb".
The fourth member of our company was a giant freaking robot. His name was "This One" and he was very...inappropriate. He was chaotic-evil and constantly kidnapping tavern wenches to...yeah, you know. We kept him around because he was big enough to crush goblins underfoot and owned a flamethrower.
Those three friends and I were the ones who played every week - there were a few characters who jumped in from time to time, including a dragonborn, and elephant rider, and the evil dwarf who killed my llama. We were employed by the village to protect them from an attacking horde of goblins, so we were always going off to raid their camps. When we weren't fighting goblins, the robot was messing around in the tavern while the two rangers and the wizard tended a small farm. We even had a talking gopher named Chuckie who took care of the farm while we were away (yeah, our DM was really, really random).
A minotaur wizard sounds VERY cool! I wish I could have seen your campaign XD.
