I SAW A PREVIEW OF THE BARRELS. But it looked like they left the tops open. I think it would be easier to leave them closed. That way you don't need the actors to actually be in there, you can just weigh it down.

OH YES!!! The ungolim of Mirkwood! I can't wait for that scene, too! I especially laughed at the part when Fili was first released from the spider web thanks to Bilbo. Bouncing upside down like a stiff wire toy indeed XD
@Alatar, the tops were open? That's odd... aren't the dwarves afraid the elves will see them?

It was in the preview I saw. Some of the dwarves in their costumes were going down a fake river in the studio in barrels sticking out the top.
