I personally think it was Kopa in the end- but I have my own theories as to why.

The first is the cub looks different from Kiara. She has very distinct facial features, and a lighter coat than the cub at the end. However, I don't believe in the Vitani killed Kopa theory. I think that Kopa was the second born, for two main reasons. If we assume that Nuka is Scar's son (which most people do believe is true), and about a year older, then the vegetation on the trees and the animals would not be so abundant (due to the fire during TLK). In the scene where Kiara is raised up in SP, the vegetation is sparse and the animals are far fewer than what is seen in the end of TLK. Not only does that difference raise questions, but the fact that in the books (not Disney sanctioned) Kopa has many young lions to play with. Given the size of the pride at the time of Kiara's birth versus the size of the pride after the prides are united, such a proliferation of cubs would be impossible unless Kopa was born AFTER Kiara.

Second question: Who do you believe is Vitani's mother?

Im going to be broing and say based on looks Zira is her mother but she didnt have scar as father which would make sense if Zira had Scars cub (Nuka) first then had Vitani with another male then finding Kovu a weeks later so there isnt so much difference between them

I think Zira is Vitani's mother. A lot of people think that it's Nala, because of the whole Scar wanting her as his mate thing. But, I think it's Zira. Thanks for the opinions everyone, and welcome back! <3

Heehee. I personally subscribe to the Sarafina being Vitani's mother theory. It would explain Nala's hatred for Vitani- i.e., when Vitani taunts her "Where's your little daughter, Nala?" To my knowledge, the two hadn't interacted in the movie before that. It would also explain why Nala wasn't killed as a cub- she was the only other young lion in the pride, and usually the Males will kill any offspring that isn't theirs, so they have the most chances of spreading their genes. If Sarafina (who looks a lot like Nala) were to have Scar's cub, she could have saved Nala. It would explain why Zira never really refers to Vitani as her daughter, and only truly acknowledges her boys, calling them "my son," and "my little prince." Zira may have stolen the cub, or may have become a surrogate mother, since she would have been angry that Scar had mated with Sarafina after Zira had produced such a lacking heir with Nuka.

Vitani however refers to zira as mother (I think) when she says "no mother" or something along those lines to zira in the big fight and she looks like zira a bit and she says "mother's gonna be so mad" not your mother which implies that she is vitanis mother too.

I like the safrina theory you suggested its interesting.

Yeah :) if Zira had raised her, she would call her mother though. Kind of like how children who know they're adopted still call their adoptive parents "mom" and "dad." If she had been taken by Zira at a young age, then she wouldn't have known Sarafina well enough to consider her a "mother".

I suppose so and as scars daughter simba probably would have exiled her with the outlanders

And sibe whats your veiw on kovu is he ziras from another male or did zira take him in?
