Is it true that in the 3rd book Gale just fades into a nobody and Katniss marries Peeta? I've read the first two books. Gale is so awesome, he's just really into nature and a great hunter like Katniss, while Peeta bakes bread and paints, which isn't very Katniss-like...

It is too bad. I feel like Peeta and Katniss were forced together by the Capitol, but Gale and Katniss were naturally going to be together someday if it weren't for the stupid Hunger Games.

On the contrary, I love Gale. But I agree he wasn't a good match for Katniss. Katniss explains it all in Mockingjay, but no spoilers!

I just don't like Gale much at all.
He was more, idk, "supportive" of Katniss going into the games, while Peeta was all: "I'll protect you!" <3 xD
He, however, did deserve a better ending.
