Who's the Best? Sonic or Mario?

I'm a Sonic fan myself (my username?) but i like Mario games just as much as the next guy.
I want to know- i mean it seems like everytime i ask this everyone yells: MARIO! and im like: ....oookkaaayy.
So im asking the people of CS! I mean 3 of my 6 friends (not including me) are Sonic fans too so i know there are some people out there who like Sonic!!!
Please; if you like Sonic- no bashing Mario or if you like Mario- no bashing Sonic *because it WILL make me cry.*
and as usual- keep this PG-13 mmkay?
