(( Note: If this is on the wrong forum, please relocate for me. Thanks xD ))

Hello, please call me Dyl. I'm in need of some help.
See, I'm doing research about World War II and I would really appreciate it if anybody knows of any good books, or documentaries about The White Rose resistance movement, or any other information regarding resistance against Hitler Youth, etc; anything on this subject. It would mean a lot of you could recommend some good movies, documentaries, diaries or books that have good information.

Thank you all so much,
- Dyl

I'm interested in the world wars but I've never heard of the White Rose resistance movement. What was it?

Really? It's one of the most popular resistances against the Hitler Youth. Sophie Scholl: The Final Days is a German movie all about it, and what happened to the teenagers who participated in it. Though I don't know any German, I put it on subtitle. xD

The White Rose (German: die Weiße Rose) was a non-violent, intellectual resistance group in Nazi Germany, consisting of students from the University of Munich and their philosophy professor. The group became known for an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign, lasting from June 1942 until February 1943, that called for active opposition to dictator Adolf Hitler's regime.

The six most recognized members of the group were arrested by the Gestapo and beheaded in 1943. Today, the members of the White Rose are honoured in Germany amongst its greatest heroes, since they opposed the Third Reich in the face of death.

It's leader was Hans Fritz Scholl, older brother of Sophie Scholl.

There's like a 20 disc documentary that you can get at Walmart or target for like 15 or 20 bucks that's really good. It might have something on it I really haven't watched them all. XD I actually only really studied the American involvement in WWII like Pearl Harbor and Okinawa. And of course the Atomic bomb. (sorry I love learning about wars! :) ) but I'll look those up and see if I can find any useful info.
I am Quitting.

I am sorry if this inconveniences you, and I will put my Gmail so if you would like to contact me, but this site has grown to... rules-y for me. I have found a much better site to RP on. I understand that this is for younger and more... immature RPer's, so that is why I am quitting.

You are all very good people! Here is me email that I check most often if you ever wish to contact me about the site(s) I now RP on, or if you want Roleplay over Email with me. :)

Please be nice when you email, me, however.

It might not be the generation as much as varying exposure. I haven't actively studied the world wars outside of highschool, but the odd time I do watch documentaries and such, it's usually on the military end, such as pivotal battles and what not. I'm not even all that familiar with the French Resistance appart from the fact that it was there. My knowledge of the Hitler Youth isn't any better.

Most of what I've learned is from the perspectives of the "allies" of course, Canada, Great Britain, France, USA, etc. The first encounter I had from the German perspective was when I read All Quiet on the Western Front which, again, was about warfare. Erich Maria Remarque (the author) was appareblty in both wars and wrote many books, but I've been searching for ages trying to find anything and after several years of online, book store, and used book store searching I've only found one book other than All Quiet... which seems to be the only one people care about.
