Hello people! I'm back after 4,000 years to ask kind of a weird question.
SPOILERS FOR REBELS SEASON FINALE (AND CLONE WARS)
Ironically, I've only seen the first episode of Star Wars Rebels, but I'm in kind of an interesting situation.
For some reason, I haven't bothered to watch Rebels yet. I've been planning on it, and now, since the season finale just hit, I thought that now was a good a time as any. I watched the first episode yesterday, and actually thought it was pretty decent.
I've been hearing everything about Fulcrum, all the fan theories and episode appearances and whatnot. After going through all of those (couldn't resist), it seemed pretty likely to me that Fulcrum was Ahsoka.
Now, Ahsoka was my favorite Clone Wars character, and possibly my favorite in all of Star Wars.
Here's my dilemma: I confirmed Fulcrum's identity in order to validate this question. Before I finish the season, I really want to know if they've changed Ahsoka's character.
See, I was shocked at the Clone Wars finale. I always figured she would die before the end of the series, or have her killed off simply in Order 66. But for her to actually reject coming back into the Jedi Order, to literally leave her entire life behind, left quite the impression on me. Someone who has dedicated their whole life to the the Force shouldn't have been able to just leave like that. It made me angry. It seemed so out of character, I wanted to scream.
Since then, I've realized that I couldn't have asked for a better ending for my favorite character. The idea that the Jedi Order had become corrupted, the Jedi morals Ahsoka followed no longer seemed to exist, was perfect. Looking back on it, Lux Bonteri's arc (which is one of my favorites, by the way) was MAJOR foreshadowing, with the whole not-all-Separatists-are-bad-not-all-Jedi-are-good type of thing. I love the fact that Ahsoka journeyed into the unknown, took a huge risk, just to show that.
I'm worried that Rebels will make Ahsoka out to be some wistful, wise Jedi who regrets leaving wholeheartedly, turning it into some sort of sob story it's not.
So, finally, my question to all of you that have watched the finale: Did they make Ahsoka like this, or did they stay true to her character, the same Ahsoka that decided to leave the Order? Thanks! :3
SPOILER END
Sorry for the long post, I just needed to rant a bit xD
