I could have told you that the entire game is actually quite boring even the ds version is. I played the entire ds version of it and it seems to me that they slapped all three movies together into one and skipped alot of good parts in it. also it doesn't pick up at all and most of the lego lord of the rings games are similar if not almost the same just some of them have parts cut out of them while others have parts that they didn't add in the hand held versions which is annoying. They also made point of making mockery out of lord of the rings with the cut scenes in ds version of lego lord of the rings. Basically since it's lego they won't be very serious about the story line in any of cut scenes. lego is best known for making video games with serious humor. O.o same with their upcoming lego movie XD.

It's Peppermint and Lumple again! I should really do some writing about them sometime.. I'm getting that itch to write big stuff again anyway!

To be fair, when Tolkien was finished writing The Hobbit, he saw it as too childish and went back to re-write it. He only got to chapter two though, as his publisher said it was "not the hobbit." So, in some ways, Peter Jackson is making it more mature of a story, which Tolkien did want.
