Yup, I've seen ragnarock. Twas pretty good, though I went into it expecting it to be a lot more serious!

I saw Ragnarok last night. Best Thor movie yet and probably my favorite Marvel movie currently. I dunno, I feel like the Marvel movies have been decreasing in quality as of late. At least, the three that came out before Homecoming (Civil War, Dr Strange & GOTG2) were mediocre. What did you guys think? To me, they just had a predictable plot and I felt the only redeeming qualities were the humor and visual effects. (Marvel's always had a good knack for humor)
Thor 3 was still a little predictable, and maybe a little slow moving, but I really enjoyed the connection with the characters and the little easter eggs and the fresh, non-explicit humor. (That was one of my least favorite things about GOTG2... all the innuendos. I am a very SFW person.)
I have a friend who said he was bored, but TBH I think he just expected there to be more action or something. Wasn't epic enough for him. IDK.

Maybe I'm over thinking this a little.
maybe it's just cause I've been inactive on CS for like, over a year.

...What about this New Mutants thing? I'm already a little excited because it stars the guy that plays Jonathan from Stranger Things. Is this a movie, or a show? Which studio is making it, Fox or Marvel?

I just started AoS season two and FITZ MY BABY. *sobs*

Ah, I'm so happy you made it past the first season. So many people depreciate this show but they never made it past the first few episodes, which are a bad representation of the series as a whole. I'm actually finished with Season 4 and started re-watching the first season. All I'll say is... The characters have changed so much throughout the seasons. I watch season one and it's like seeing them as children. If that by itself doesn't say something about the writing of this show. I don't know what else to tell you.
Also it's hilarious because back in season one they were all acting like typical agents, with all the code and formalities, which I find hilarious. But in addition, everyone is so much... light hearted. It makes me happy to see them in good spirits again after all that's happened.
Things have changed so much..

Question: do you think Taika Waititi added anything to or removed anything from the movie? Like... was there anything that stood out to anyone as not being usual in a Marvel movie? I'm curious, partly because I'm not familiar enough with Marvel yet to notice, and partly because I've seen a decent amount of Taika's work already, so his stuff is familiar to me :p
I feel like this question is phrased really awkwardly help i'm tired lol

Hmm I suppose that's a valid point. I never read the New Mutants comics so I wouldn't know. All the same, I freaked out when I saw Charlie Heaton in the trailer.

I think I can speak for everyone that Taika was hilarious and a great addition to the show. I'm not familiar with any of his other work, but I swear I've heard that voice somewhere before.
I don't think the movie strayed too far from its standard. I know some other people find it a little slower moving than the usual action packed super hero movie, but other than that it doesn't seem any different. I literally didn't even notice if it was slower moving anyway, I'm just going off what others have told me, because I care more about characterization and relationships than action tbh.
As for the rest, pretty on par with typical MCU films.
