catch 22; i could not get through the first quarter of this book. it was so slow going and confusing to read. i simply couldn't follow along with the old writing style.

the plague dogs; same as above. super slow going and hard to follow due to the old writing style

i honestly don't even remember the name of this book but it was about some really anxious girl who's adopted and trying to discover herself. doesn't sound too bad, but it was sort of an uncomfortable read with some mature content that lil ole me doesn't care for, and a lot of self-pitying and crying. also teenage drama with bullying and three way romance. uber long and boring to me. the only character i cared for and can remember the name of, jay, died.

anything by the author natasha preston. she's a wattpad author who has had books published. all her books are basically the same to me. blue-eyed, brown haired, teenage, female protagonists who does nothing but cry throughout her books. the protagonist is different for each book, but basically the same in looks and personality, which is so boring to me. all they ever do is cry, pity themselves, and get together with inexplicably hot guys that they only ever hang out + make out with. i can't believe i bought three of her books because they were all practically the same with plots that tried to be different from each other but basically fell short of being creative and just full of tropes.

I dont know... the first 6 books of Warriors is pretty good, it offered something new and most of the characters were pretty damn solid, such as Lionheart, Yellowfang, Fireheart, Graystripe, Ravenpaw, Tigerclaw, Bluestar, Whitestorm, Cinderpelt etc. and the plot, which stretched over the entire 6 books was exciting and well written as well. However, the quality of the books slowly began to drop with "The new prophecy"; which, I admit, starts of decent with interesting characters right from the start but slowly drops when the fourth book rolls around. But the real damn starts with "The power of three" and especially "omen of the stars" which is just.... soooo bad....

I can agree with this, though I don't really think any of them were 'so bad' - they just didn't really live up to how good the first arc was. The Prophecies Begin was great. The New Prophecy and the Power of Three were ok but were ultimately quite forgetful. I only read half of Omen of the Stars but I know it got a bit far-fetched and ridiculous towards the end, especially with The Great Battle and (spoilers in transparent text) killing Spottedleaf for the second time because why the heck not. However, I really did not like the Dawn of the Clans when I attempted to read them. I read the first book, thought it was a bit boring and I didn't like the main characters, and didn't bother picking up the second book from there.

I'd like to eventually pick up the rest of these books again - partly because I wonder if I'm missing out on some good moments, and partly because I hate leaving things half finished haha.

I haven't read the newer books myself, but i've heard that the series gets pretty bad and that it isn't so good now.

Last year for English we had to read The House on Mango Street. Easily the most boring book I've ever read.

A book (or books) that I willingly read? I don't dislike the Vision of Shadows arc, but it's just really hard for me to keep on reading it. From what I've read, it's the same old Warrior Cats tropes, esp. The "unwilling medicine cat" trope. I want some cat that wants to be a medicine cat to have that job for once. And again, I can't be bothered to read this arc to its completion so I could be terribly wrong about what's going on, but I say this based on what I managed to read and get through.

Tried reading the ‘The bean trees’ again. It’s been 10 yrs, can’t be as bad as I remember.....

....

Nope. Still hate it.
So say goodbye to the old, and hello to that rainbow road ...

I personally like the books but i've heard from another CS user and other fans that the books get worse along the way.

Personally, for me, it was the Nine Lives of Romeo Crumb series. It was poorly written, and I was so bored by it, I couldn't make it through all nine books. I kept with it for a while to see where it would go, but it wasn't worth my time.
