I've only just realised I got hit with the reset thing from the last update too.
I was wondering if restoring an iCloud backup might fix it? I'd try it but for once my phone did do an automatic back up this morning for the first time in weeks (storage problems) so I wouldn't have much luck, and i'm not sure if Apple keeps the old backups or just overwrites them.
However i assume restoring from a backup only temporarily fixes the problem? Since you'd have to update the app eventually. I'd imagine it's probably best to just leave it and start over? Which sucks but it's not much of a problem. I'll still try and look for other solutions first though

arrrg yeah, there's no saving it at this point. but I do suggest you email info@rainbowtail.net as a record of your loss, if there's any way to reimburse you guys in the future we totally will.

also, don't connect your account until the next update, as we'll be giving away a big login bonus to lessen the pain of losing your progress. >.<

and looks like next update will be around end of December/beginning of Jan!

Android users, now that server migration is done we're 100% set on debugging Android. it's already a playable game, but there's some annoying bugs to iron out and gameplay to smooth. it's just gotta be good.

Ah no worries. Gonna miss my green wolf buddy but I found it once, I'll find it again.

One more thing: iff you were to create other forms of saving data (accounts, cloud saves .etc) is it possible to migrate over after connecting to facebook? I know it'll be in the future, and i don't have a problem with facebook, but I'm not the biggest fan of connecting mobile games to social media accounts. I definitely don't like doing it with games that post on your account for you. I doubt this game does that and it's just simply a way to save game data without the risk of running into problems but just to be on the safe side.

^I can't say whether account transfers would be possible, since the other forms of data save haven't been added yet. or even started adding. >_>; ideally it would be able to, but no idea how it works at this time.

yeah for sure, but right now we're still working on the big bugs that we already know about (such as device compatibility), so not at the stage for open beta testing yet!

I do love most every thing with the new update, and since I'd linked my account to FB I didn't have any losses.

Not having to match pets to set them off has really changed my game play. Took some getting used to but I like it now.

Not 100% sold on the gemlings being summoned automatically. Two reasons:

1)Sometimes I found it useful to time my summons so I could hold off clearing the board. This was useful when I was trying for 3 stars and wanted to rack up points manually to insure I reached 3 stars before all the gemlings were summoned and cleared the board before I was ready.
2) Tactically, I liked choosing which gemling to summon. My choice used to be based either on things like blast pattern, trait or by the predominant gem color on the board at the time of summons. This update has taken that level of control away from me.

Still loads of fun though!

I agree with what Barb_ said above, except I am still very disappointed that I can't match my pets with gems anymore, because now it seems like there is no point in the gemlings even having an element... And it's aggravating because when I try to summon a gemling by matching gems, I can't.

I didn't read the last few months's worth of pages so I have no idea if this has been asked and haven't played the game in months so I forgot but is there anyway to link the account to FB or open the game without updating. My iPhone has been dead for months and I now have an Andriod so right now my account is still safe.

hmm, maybe we let you tap to summon? so when it's ready, it'll just glow, but still needs your tap to summon. we'll keep thinking about this one.

matching gemlings to gems is something really difficult for new players to pick up (and we've tried many tutorials), which is why we're giving auto-blast a try in the first place. can only see if new-player data improves. >__<
