also if you read it, you may find it's not too overrated and rated a bit unfairly, but I loved it. So don't be so closed-minded. If you are, then you will never be exposed to something that might change you.

plum spooky by jane evinovich has to be the worst one. i didn't have anything to read so i picked it up a some cheap shop and i got to around chapter 10 or 11 before i stopped reading it. everything about it was boring(which makes sense because she used to write contemporary romance novels and i can barely stand those). she tried to write a mystery cop(???) lawyer(???) detective(???) humor book? but nothing worked and that book mentally and physically hurt me in every way

how is it not too overrated? everywhere you turn in a school you see it! its even spread to roblox! and you loving it doesn't mean everyone loves it, things that are overrated are not my taste, either are books like harry potter.

We had to read Speak for school, it was honestly really boring and I get the message is good but.. eh, I'm more into fantasy

To me the book is just so overrated, and at first I didn’t hate it but growing up in a house with a stepmom who’s OBSESSED with it is just... awful!

the reason its in every school is because it tends to be kids first real chapter books. if something is popular its usually because of nostalgia, but that doesnt mean you should hate a series because its overrated with out even attempting to read it.

overrated means when people think something is better than it actually is, so how can you place how much praise it deserves when you have not read it

we had to read All Quiet On The Western Front for school and god i hated it....i understand it was to learn about the war but the characters were so flat and i never had any idea what was going on. I literally had no clue what the plot was until we watched the movie..

I disliked Ayn Rand's Anthem a lot, and normally I'm pretty relaxed when it comes to judging books. The characters were flat, and the book just seemed to be preaching of Rand's ideals? Not very good tropes in my opinion. The only positive I can really think of is that the concept of the world isn't THAT bad, but I'd rather read 1984 or Brave New World over this any day.

also don't hurt me but The Giver and The Great Gatsby were too overhyped for me to really enjoy them-

Common or popular is not the same thing as overrated. Overrated means it is undeserving of its high ratings.

Also, disliking something just because it's "popular" or "overrated" is senseless. I used to be like that until I realized I was missing out on a lot of great things.
