I'll tell you how to make a hyperlink on the CS forum(using one of my Advent Calendar pets as an example for the URL).
1. On the CS forum, click the "New Topic" button at the top of the screen.
2. Above the place where you insert the text,look for the gray box that says "URL". Click on it. Something that says
- Code: Select all
[url][/url]
will show up. These are the
tags.3. Change the opening tag of
- Code: Select all
[url][/url]
to
- Code: Select all
[url=]
4. Open a new tab (Control+T on PCs and Command/Apple+T on Macs, or go to "File-New Tab" on the top of the screen).
5. Find the URL (which is the web "address" at the top of your screen) of the page you want to link to.
6. Highlight the URL (remember to include the http://).
7A. If you have a PC, press the Control Key while pressing the "C" key at the same time or at the top of your screen go to "Edit" then click "Copy".
7B. If you have a Macintosh, press the Command/Apple Key while pressing the "C" key or go to Edit-Copy on your web browser. (I believe.)
8. Go back to the tab that has the new thread on it. Look for the [url][/url] tags. Paste the URL (Crtl+V on PCs or Command/Apple+V on Macs) in between the "=" and the second ] on the opening tag. At this point, the code will look like this;
- Code: Select all
[url=http://chickensmoothie.com/viewpet.php?id=863881][/url]
9. Look for the place in the code where the brackets are facing opposite each other. In between those two brackets, put the text that you want the hyperlink to show up as (in this case, it is probably "click here"). At this point, the code should look this;
- Code: Select all
[url=http://chickensmoothie.com/viewpet.php?id=863881]Click Here![/url]
And you're done! If you didn't understand that (and sorry, I'm not very good at explaining, the hyperlink code in BBCode should look this;
- Code: Select all
[url=MY URL GOES HERE]CLICK HERE[/url]
