Advice on my Website

This is not an adoptables webpage. It is my own personal portfolio site to help me get a job. I asked one of my friends about it that does web design for work, and he basically told me to scrap the whole thing and go with a prepare template, it is that bad. So... So I'd like some second opinions? Everyone else who has seen it loves It, but none of them do web design.

Any web designers out there with honest critiques? Tear it apart (but also please tell me WHY it is wrong, so that I have a better idea for what to change).

Your webpage is really cool, but it also looks rather cramped? As in, everything seems somewhat smooshed together. Sorry that I couldn't really help 😥
