      Story:

      >>> Weeks upon weeks had gone into putting together his costume. Countless trips to the craft store, countless google searches, and seemingly endless amounts of sewing; and in the end, Renny still found himself self-conscious with the results. Even underneath the regal armor, he was still fearful. Fearful that what he had put together was wrong. Most of his classmates were going as zombies or ghosts or scary creatures of the night. But young Renny was scared of the night, and of the creatures that hid in the shadows. For all he knew, every turn of the corning could hold some creepy-crawly creature there to pounce, or a ghost just waiting to ambush! So, he had decided to go trick-or-treating as the one being he thought could fight of any scary creature of the night: a centurion. Stories of brave warriors in the coliseum fighting off lions and always inspired him; his favorite book about Rome worn and bent from the wear and tear of his childhood obsession. Tonight was the night he was supposed to find the courage of the warrior, and ready himself to face down any monster in his path! And yet, even under his polished armor and regal cape, he was still too nervous to set foot out the door. He didn't look like a warrior, but like a scared pup pretending to be something he wasn't; scared of everything outside the door. Instead of leaving, he laid on the floor of his bedroom, tears in his eyes. He was going to miss all the fun!

Something caught the corner of his eye. A sword he had made for a school art project. It hung off the back of the door by a strap, almost begging to be seen as it glinted in the light. Was that the piece he had been missing! Hurried and desperate, Renny strapped the sword around his shoulders, and looked into the mirror again. Suddenly, instead of seeing a scared child looking back at him; the form he saw in the mirror was brave and bold; the faced of a centurion. He looked like a warrior. And a warrior like him could fight off any creature hiding in the shadows!

Instilled with new bravery, Renny hurried out the door and down the street; a bright bag just waiting for candy pulled behind him; along with his trusty flashlight. Soon, he spotted a house with it's lights on- this was his chance! A hop in his step and an excited grin on his face, Renny ran up to the front door, already out of breath.

      "Trick or Treat!"

lights on! messages will be answered soon!

Pet's name: Dolly
Story:

It was Dolly’s first time ever leaving her house since her owner, Raven, brought her to life. Dolly was a large clay sculpture of a wolf that Raven had made in Ceramics class and later brought to life using technology inspired by Frankenstein. Her job was to provide Raven with a friend, since she had very few at the time. Raven and Dolly had an unbreakable bond, and both were equally excited about the approaching holiday.
“Do you really think I look alright? These wings don’t seem very witch-like to me, do you think they fit my costume?” Dolly asked her owner while examining herself in the mirror.
“Dolly, you look great! I like your wings, I think they make you look unique, but I do have one more thing you might want to take with you.” Raven smiled and handed Dolly a round, black object.
“What is this? A cauldron?”
“It’s not just a cauldron, it’s a candy bucket! You’ll need something to put all those treats in, and it matches your costume perfectly! I even added a little blue bow so you don’t mix it up with anyone else’s.”
“Thanks Raven, I love it! You’re the best owner a wolf could ever ask for, I can’t wait to go trick-or-treating with you.”
Raven chuckled and started heading towards the door. “Are you ready to go? I can already hear trick-or-treaters outside.”
Dolly nodded. “I’m ready when you’re ready.”
Raven and Dolly made their way outside and began to walk towards the nearest house. The streets were filled with ghosts, zombies, witches, and skeletons, all greedily hoarding treats in their buckets and bags. Dolly had never seen so many people in one place, the noises and crowds began to overwhelm her.
She turned to Raven as the two of them walked together. “Is Halloween always this crazy? There must be at least a million people here!”
Raven reassured Dolly as they approached the first house. “I know crowds can be intimidating, but everyone out here has the same goal we do- to have fun and get lots of treats.”
Dolly relaxed a bit and eyed the door in front of her. “So what do I do now?” she asked Raven.
“Just ring the doorbell and wait. You know what to say, right?”
Dolly nodded and approached the door. She rang the doorbell excitedly, rehearsing the three sacred words to herself. She smiled and said those three words.
“Trick or treat!”

Pet's name: Daisie
Story:
Daisie glanced at her costume, which was a Winter Fairy Ice Skater. The reasoning behind her costume being that she couldn't decide on being a Winter Fairy or an Ice Skater, so she decided to do both by combining the costumes. Glancing at her costume, smiling as she looked in the mirror. She knew she had to carry her skates down to the door, and needed to find her wand for the fairy part of her costume. Searching her room with her eyes, the pup saw the yellow star part of her wand sticking out from under her bed. “Aha,” she cried, grabbing it and going back to the mirror. “Finally complete,” she barked happily. Glancing at the clock, she smiled. “Almost time for the first trick or treater,” she murmured, heading downstairs.

After a while, the doorbell rang. “Yeah, trick or treat time!” Daisie barked, her tail wagging as she rushed to the door, grabbing her trick or treat bag and the candy bowl to give candy out. “Here you go,” she smiled at the trick or treater, giving them a piece of candy. “I’m heading out!” she called out to her family, making sure she had everything before she left her house. Hmm, do the houses before mine, then cross the street, do that side, cross again and then make my way home, hitting houses on the way, she thought, heading away from her house and towards the first house, seeing the lights were on. Knocking on the door, she called out, “Trick or Treat!”

Story:

Holly sighed as she sat on her bed, looking through all the costumes she has worn through the years. Sadly, none of them interested her and she really wanted to go trick or treating. She was about to give up when she saw the color green out of the corner of her eye. She stood up and walked over. There was a brand new witch costume. This was perfect! Seeing she had very little time to spare, she went and got ready. After awhile, she came out all dressed up. Taking one last look around, she headed outside. She shivered slightly as she came onto the cold night that was also spookily foggy. She walked for awhile down the many Halloween decorations until she came across a house with a light on. Taking a deep breath, she went up the steps and knocked. "Trick or Treat"

Story:

Tobi was that one kid. He'd jump at the slightest sound or touch, be nervous or wary of anything new, and takes a LOT of convincing for him to do said new thing. When it came to Halloween, he would rather stay home, read a fantasy book and curl up with a warm blanket. He couldn't help it, he was just naturally wary. His classmates would tease him about it, but he'd learned to ignore their teasing. Thankfully, he had a few close friends he'd hang with every weekend. He'd met them this year, on his first day of school. They noticed Tobi on the playground, sitting alone on a swing with a worried look on his face. Tobi was thankful that he'd met the two.

Beyond his wary nature, he had a special talent in robotics. It was his special interest, and hoped to work in a robotic-related career in the future. When he'd get his weekly allowance, he'd use half of it to purchase inexpensive parts, and save the other half for more expensive ones. Over time, he'd accumulated lots of tools and supplies, and had made many interesting robotics. From one that helped him receive objects off of tall shelves, to simple ones that could turn pages of books.

Because of his wary nature, it took a lot of convincing from his friends to go trick or treating with them while they rode home on the bus. Finally, he agreed. Soon as he got off, he went into his room and started brainstorming. After an hour of being unable to settle on any ideas, he went to read a book. Soon as he pulled a book called "The order of the Phoenix" he FINALLY had the perfect costume idea.

It took many hours, but his work was complete. His Phoenix costume not only looked stunning, the tails could move with a remote function, his wings could even let him hover slightly in the air! He even made a special machine that would make orange smoke; that looks a little like fire! Proud of his work, Tobi put his costume away in his closet, to keep it safe for the big night.

After awaiting anxiously with his pals, the night they’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! Soon as he got home from school, he took out his costume, and ensured it was working correctly. At sunset, his doorbell rang. With his costume on and carrying his goodie bag, he raced out to the door to meet his friends.

The sun was almost hidden away from the earth, the final vibrant colors that stained the sky was turning to black. The moon was full, and it glowed brightly. Everywhere Tobi looked, there was spooky sights. It brought back his original wariness, but the smiles his friends had made him calm down a little. His costume had gathered many looks of awe, of how the wings and tailed moved. It brought him a rare feeling of confidence, and how proud he was of his costume.

Soon, they arrived to their first place to start their quest for candy. With his newly found confidence, Tobi went up and knocked on the door, and hollered;

“TRICK OR TREAT!”

Story:
Annabelle starred at the foot of hair laying on the ground at her feet, this was it, she was finally finished. It only took 3 days of barely sleeping to find a wig, with long enough hair, make a cardboard frying pain, and sew a dress by hand, to be ready for tonight. Starting the costume prep more than 3 days ago, might have been a better idea, but procrastination was her best friend.

"Whoops. Almost forgot Pascal."

She thought to herself as she grabbed a headband with a rubber frog glued to it. Pascal was a chameleon in the movie, but Annabelle didnt own a stuffed, rubber, or otherwise fake chameleon, so she worked with what she had. After some last, and I mean LAST, minute touch ups to her costume she smiled and nodded to herself ready to head out on her favorite night of the year.

Annabelle stepped outside, locking the door behind herself as she headed out on a night of spooks and fun. Beaming with happiness she wandered off to find her first treat or trick. It only took a few minutes of walking down the street to see a house with its lights on, she skipped over to the house smiling from ear to ear with joy. As she made her way up to the door she took a deep breath and knocked.

Knock
Knock
Knock

"Trick or treat!"

Story:

It all started with a large hammer. He’d found in a box of junk at a garage sale and it just called to him. Even though he had no real reason to, he bought it. It would look great on his dining room table…as a centerpiece or something. Or maybe on the bookshelf as a bookend.

ImageImageImage

So, as the months changed, Mikinaak (call me Miki) slowly moved the hammer to different locations in his house. He was sure one of them would be the right spot, eventually. Nowhere was ever quite right though.

Miki was just attempting to fit the hammer in between his kitchen sink and blender when his phone rang. Worried that if he answered it the hammer or the blender would crash to the floor (one damaging the tiles and the other smashing into smithereens), he let it ring through to leave a message. Satisfied that his décor was no longer so precarious, he played the recording.

ImageImageImage

“Hey, Miki! It’s Clara. Lulu just took me out shopping and you’ll never guess what I found! There was a near mint condition Tylo Rover* at a second hand shop. It is totally TDF! I can’t wait for Halloween. It’s going to bring my costume together perfectly! Have you got a costume yet? Oh, Fluffy-boy’s giving me that look. I better go take him for a walk. Talk soon, bye!”

Halloween. Oops, guess that’s coming up soon. Miki couldn’t believe he’d forgotten. He didn’t even have the vaguest idea about a costume. Ok, so he did, but he couldn’t actually go as a character from his favorite book. No one would recognize him. Great, now he was going to have to go out and get something that he didn’t really like and might not wear again just because he’d failed to plan for October.

ImageImageImage

Wait, the hammer! He could be Thor. That must have been what the hammer was calling to him. He that lifts this hammer will have the power of Thor, or however that quote from the movie went. And he already had a blonde wig from last year’s ill-fated Grindelwald costume. A bit of gold rickrack and some wings for Thor’s crown, a red cloak (okay, okay, blanket, but it’s better than mother’s drapes), some glow sticks or sparklers for lightning effect, and some gold coins and bangles from an old board game and he’d be set.

He looked great, if he did say so himself. Though holding the hammer and the cauldron for candy was going to be a bit of a juggling act, he didn’t care. This was surely the best costume he’d put together in years. He couldn’t wait to meet up with his friends for the Halloween party at Duke’s.

But, that was still over an hour off. He could head out to a few of the houses nearby and get a bit of trick or treating in before hand. And maybe indulge in a few of the treats he’d get. Smiling and grabbing his keys, he headed out the door.

A few doors down he found a place with its lights on. Perfect. He loved Halloween. Springing towards the door, he lit one of the glow sticks and got ready to say “Trick or Treat?”

Story:
This was it. His very first Halloween. Kaiju had spent days trying on costume after costume. Everything he got his little claws on had been either too big or too small. He had spent hours lamenting to Moth, his little winged companion, that things just weren't made in dragon sizes. But watching the little orange splash of color lit the dragon's mind with an idea. He didn't need to buy a costume, he could make his own, and Moth was the perfect inspiration. He'd be Mothra!

Prancing out into the night, the little dragon decked himself in fur and scales, make shift wings carefully hand crafted with lots of paint and cardboard. "It's a battle for the ages! Mothra versus Godzilla! Who will prevail as the candy champion?" he sang, a soft plush aquatic lizard sailing through the sky as he tossed it high. It landed with a soundless flump, nose pointing towards a house nearby, and Kai bounced over to it. "Ah, I see. You think we should start in this direction? I won't let you win this battle, Zilly! Come on Moth! Let's go!"

The little dragon moth gathered up his things and raced to the house. The excitement shined in his eyes as his now furry tail wagged rapidly back and forth outside the door and he gave a quick knock. He puffed up his chest, flared out his wings, and smiled bright with a happy call of "Trick or Treat!"

Story: It had been quite a few years since Fhera last week Trick-or-Treating, since in most people's opinions, she was "too old." This year though, she had an excuse to finally dressup and go again - this year, her parents agreed to let her take her little brother Alister out for his first time trick-or-treating.

She decided to make her costume this year rather than buy one from the store; she wanted to be a nature fairy. The dress and cloak had been pretty easy, with some help from her mom, that is, but the antlers had been a much different story. After many failed attempts that wouldn't stay up or were way too heavy, she did eventually find something that worked ... hopefully they would hold up all night!

After Fhera finished getting her costume on, she knocked on her brother's door. "Hurry up!" she yelled. "We're gonna miss all the good candy!" Alister opened his door and ran out, bumping into his sister who was waiting outside. "Hey, watch where you're going!"

"Sorry!" He said, grabbing her paw and pulling her toward the front door. Fhera stumbled behind her brother, yelling a quick goodbye to their parents as they went out the door.

As the siblings walked down the street, Fhera pointed at a house with it's lights on and began walking up to it. Upon reaching the house, Alister stood back behind his sister, nervous. Fhera walked up to the door by herself, knocked, and yelled "Trick or Treat!"

Trick or Treater:

Story:

Judith snagged at his bag, excited for his first time Trick or Treating. He was snug in his pilot costume. Many puppies and kits were outside chattering as the sun slowly went down. The first house light would trigger a storm of excitement and candy cravers to every door in the neighborhood, including the restless Judith. "I can't wait to see the decorations! And all the BIG chocolate bones that I've heard about." Judith bounced around, paws barely touching ground. The streetlight came on and Judith began skipping to the nearest door. spooky costumes ranged from dinosaurs, skeletons, witches, lions! Judith was so estranged to see such glee comme from so many people. He soon followed a trail of leaves to a door, Halloween decorations surrounded him as he carefully went up the steps. Judith scratched on the door using his paws and barked "Merry Chr- Trick or Treat!"
