Spotty would you be willing to do character designs for the right payment?

Kestral&Leo, no, not really. Well, it depends of course, partly about just what the 'right' payment would be but there are really too large risks with character designs for me. If the character design is already half finished it's pretty much as ordering a lineart colouing without a reference, and it I get to design just the way I want on a general theme there is always a risk that you wouldn't connect with the character. Plus, there is the problem that I get designing-blocks whenever I try to design on demand^^'.
One time I did a special arangement, where I was given a theme, designed a heap of characters on that theme, the customer picked the one they liked the most and the rest was donated to PoH (they are still there). It's not really something I'd do again, but it's one way to solve it I gues^^.

I don't know what you had in mind really, so give me some details and I'll concider it^^.

After looking at your work load, and seeing as you won't take bribes for awhile, I think I'll tuck mine away for safe keeping. X3 And I have to say as well I really like how you did Skyrise's red panda <3

Well the thing is I have been trying to design a true Hyena character for a while (so full on Hyena) but I cannot draw/colour a decent hyena pattern. I know roughly what I want, its a basic hyena with a few specific markings and accessories added on but its the hyena base I can't do.

So what I am after is someone who can design me a hyena character with normal hyena markings and the couple of specific markings and accesories I need.

Kestral&Leo, so what you're really after is a neat hyena lineart and some natural colours? I'm guessing you have seen my Spot-revamp images at the Guide, or perhaps the revamp I did for some character at the Agency? Since I'm working on my own new quad ref I have a selection of more or less anathomically correct hyena linearts that I coincidentally enjoy colouring. And since I've spent the last week reasearching natural hyena coats I have that in fresh memory too.
Well, I won't promise anything, but it's not impossible that I'd take an order like that later on. How much later on depends on other things, but leave me some room before attempting to acctually order it^^'.

Just as examples then, a draft for a furture Spot and a hyena colour chart of natural colours and patterns that shows up on real hyenas (yes, it's really sloppily coloured). I also have a picture straight from the side as a quite nice hyena reference, but I don't have any uploaded examples.

And the draft of future Spot is beautiful, the greyish-brown colour is stunning

On the hyena colour chart I've just pinpointed colours of photos and then roughly translated the patterns onto my lineart. Hyenas are amazingly diverse, I'd never have guessed by first glance^^.

Agreed, when I first got the idea I started looking at the images and doing some colour charts and I honestly didn't expect such a range.
