They offered a rat, spiders, and ponies, which I don't collect and my rules state to not offer. Plus the trade is unfair. They also had no message, also against my rules.

Trade is unfair and they're asking me to practically trade a rare for nothing. I wouldn't have minded if they asked for a pet and tried to make it fair. If the message was "hi im new, im not sure if this is fair, you can edit though' I may have tried to work something out. Or even if they went 'hi im new, you can edit if you want' I may have tried to work something else also.
But sending me an unfair trade and asking me to help you sounds like you expect me to give you rares for nothing.

I, too, have problems with people offering me pets I dont wish to obtain. If you look at my rules, I think they are pretty straight forward =/
I understand that people are new but I dislike when they feel like they are obligated to a pet because of their new status. We were all new once and we each built our way up on our own =/ I love helping people out, but not if I feel like they are obligated to it. If that makes any sense. =]

You want to know something funny? Right when I clicked cancel it said 'You can not cancel this trade because it doesn't exist.'
They traded the pets to somebody else. -_- I don't mind when this happens but not when they JUST sent the trade. Why the heck did they send me a trade, offering pets they offered to somebody else also?

They want this trade. I am not convinced so ask if they would add a 2009 uncommon to it. They add a 2010 uncommon. I decide to give them the benefit of the doubt and ask in the fair trade thread. The trade was deemed unfair to me. The masses had spoken. I told this person and even linked them to the post. I asked for a near date uncommon. They put in a very late 2009 (hardly near date). I edit it to include a near date, and they start whining about how unfair it is, that they really want the dog because it is their dream pet, yadda yadda. Well if it is your flipping dream pet, be prepared to pay what the community says is fair, for crying out loud!

I cancel, because clearly they are not willing to listen to what I am asking for and are going to throw a tantrum. They send me a new trade with overpay, asking why I cancelled and telling me I was taking it way out of proportion. I did not even say anything when I cancelled. How the heck can nothing be out of proportion?! then they cancel the trade offer saying, "Nevermind, I know where I can get it for a fair trade." Then why in heaven's name did you bother wasting my time with stupidity if you knew somewhere else to get it for a lower price? Some days I REALLY hate people!
