It's just, your cat may be for trade, but no one will know that. Since it's name says not for trade, people will assume it isn't for trade. Therefore they think you keep it unlocked just to wave it around. Try locking it, and saying something like
"PM for red halloween cat" Or something, so people to lazy to try won't bother, reducing bad trades. That's what I do

, I just said it's unfair, and you could see that by looking at dates. Sending pm's after trades is often quite useless and leads only to arguments.
