If you don't want offers on the pet, either lock the group the pet is in or move the pet into a locked group if the other pets in that group are for trade. You can't rant here about people offering on pets that aren't for trade just because you refuse to lock the groups.

Just a small rant:
I sent a trade to a person who had a giveaway thread, requesting for a '11 uncommon dog from my WL. I said my please and thank you's but yet the person cancelled without a message and it wasn't even because the pet was in another trade! In the thread, they just said that the adoption group was open for trade and the pet WAS from the adoption group. What did I do wrong

Actually... What you just said is kind of rude.
It DOES matter what the other person thinks of it; because if you sent them a trade YOU thought was fair but they didn't think was fair then you basically just said they should accept it anyways, because you think it's fair...
I may have misunderstood what you were trying to say, but that's what it sounded like to me and that seems more rude than the message...

And I don't quiet understand how them saying they thought the trade was fair was rude...They could just be saying that they thought it was fair to show you what they consider a fair trade if you chose to edit. I do that all the time, I say I think the trade is fair but ask them to edit it if it's not fair to them.

And actually, that trade was unfair to THEM. Either way you look at it (as them offering the 2010 rat for the item set or the horse) it's still unfair to them; it might be rat they were offering but the rat alone would have been worth the horse and the item set just because it's from 2010.

I would agree with you except for a couple of things. That person sent me a trade. When I send trades sometimes I feel it's fair and sometimes I'm not sure, so I will leave them a note to edit if they like. But I would not tell them I think my offer is fair; if they disagree, they disagree. Because different people place different values on various objects and pets based on likes, rarity, year, etc.

The rats in general tend to be the easiest pets to get. I've gotten plenty of early '10 rats just from Adoption Centers because no one wants them, and I got them free. To me the rats don't have as much value unless they're say, an 09 uncommon/rare. But most 2010s, minus the rares, can be found just about anywhere. The dresses from the faire are very high-demand items, much more than a rat (even a rat from a previous year) so to me the offer of a 2010 rat is fair for a dress.

Finally, I said maybe I was being cynical, meaning I acknowledge I may have misinterpreted what the person was trying to imply in their message. I wasn't trying to be some jerkface like OMG THIS PERSON TOTALLY FOE EW HOW DARE THEY.

Well was the pet in a locked group? That may help prevent trade offers like this.
