The puppeteer and the puppet

If you look behind the stage
you will see the masked man's rage
conveyed in such a secret way
no way he'll ever have to pay
No way you could see behind the mask
You'd never get the chance to ask
He smirks when he tugs the string
treating the poor puppet like a thing
He never gave a second thought
that the puppet was why he was caught
because one day the puppet was tired of being used
The puppet's confidence sorely bruised
the poor pile of rags spoke out
and removed the masked man's doubt...

it reminds me of how you saved me

Yeah, the cold and the darkness I used to embrace
suddenly turned into a warm light
and all I want is to be with you tonight,
and the rest of my life.

It all started at the park. Yes, the park. On a cold saturday evening, I decided to clear my mind of the things that happened yesterday. On the same day, I had gotten thrown to the ground, putting a long wound across my arm, my former boyfriend dumped me because he thought another girl was prettier, so I had to hide the resentment I felt. It wasn't easy. I thought he loved me. Seems like he didn't.

The park, with the "crystal" lake I always liked to see my reflection in, a single swing set nobody seemed to want to sit on, and plenty of trees. Okay, it wasn't something many people liked, but I loved watching the squirrels jump around and gather all of the little nuts. As fortune had it, there was another person there.

But I didn't know that I would be falling in love with the very same boy, his blue sweatshirt he always seemed to wear, his subtle, sweet smile, and the way his deep blue eyes seemed to gleam under his glasses.

I had no way at all of knowing.
