I would never accept that. Why would you trade your rares away for worthless uncommons when you could be getting other rares for them? The only pets that are worth something is the white owl and koi. That's it.
I would say unfair to you for that reason.

Would this be a fair trade? I know store pets aren't really that rare, but I'm not sure if they're still considered to be very rare.
