The owls are bigger then the butterfly wolves:

And the wingless butterfly wolf is smaller then the kittens

To be honest, I personally see the butterfly wolves being piskies (or little fairies, if you will). I can see them being able to fit in the palm of your hand.... But then again, that's just how I see them. OuO
