Updates to the Pound coming

Did you see in the 18th November 23 Mid Month Update - November 2023 news:
"-We have some updates to our Pound coming in the future, stay tuned!"

I have tracked almost 600 pounds.
If ANYTHING I hope they RANDOMIZE the 15 pets on your screen.
Randomizing would make you LOOK instead of blindly clicking the first pet.
On average 66% of the users log in the last few minutes before the pound (Discord?), then log out.

Even users who have been on CS for a WEEK have figured out how to snipe and blindly click the first pet spot!
Many players wish list EVERY rare+ in the game just for the pound.
If their connection is MILLI SECONDS faster than yours, then you get the pet already taken screen. Go back and the first 5 pets are taken.
ALL rares are almost always GONE under a minute. After 10 minutes, the pound is closed.
I understand, someone is getting a tradeable pet. And perhaps to CS, all pets should be collected.

Since the rarity update, on average I have gotten a 2010 Extremely Uncommon horse or Bwolf as my first pet.
Anything more desirable and my refresh at 70 Milli second latency ping connection is too long = miss.

There have been several pound suggestion forum posts in the past.
What do you hope the "update" to the pound is?

They already dealt with the discord bot autoreminding the pound and autocreating an image for rares by changing the API’s
Besides I believe rares are supposed to be challenging to catch. I mean do you think trading would still be a thing if everyone just got what they wanted? Exactly

Anyway, I lowkey want them to unite the pound and the l&f and make them give away the pets at the same time, cuz let’s be real each time the l&f is open it takes 5 hours to close it 😭
Also I want them to make the pound open without refreshing if the person is on the page when it’s open. Well, I mean, so that it refreshes automatically without the person’s input. I think that would solve all the problems that people with slow WiFi are experiencing

I'm super eager to see what the Pound updates will be! Outside of events, I mainly log into CS for the Pound and Lost and Found nowadays!

I'd like a combination of full pet display randomization and either a custom Pound-only wishlist or priority options for the current wishlist system. I also like the suggestion of the page auto-refreshing when it opens, or at least switching from the countdown to "Click here to open the Pound!" or something, like when the refresh timer is up. (I assume the latter is preferred for technical reasons, not everyone wants a page refreshing without their permission especially when it means you'd be unexpectedly loading a lot of images!)

I don't want the Pound and L&F combined though because, quite frankly, there's so much more demand for pets that the pets would *still* be cleared out in 10 minutes and it would have to stay open while people picked at the item dregs. It wouldn't help the pet situation and would actively hinder the item situation (the L&F has way more items than the Pound has pets) because you'd only be able to pick one or the other and people will go for a pet first 99% of the time simply because they have more trade value due to having actual rarities.

Itd be cool if the pound always gave us a chance to grab something that we dont own, but either way im super excited to see what changes they make

I have no /real/ issue with the way the pound has been run for the length that the site has been live for... I like that the pets shown to you are completely random & it makes sense that you should have to fight for rarer pets... they should be a challenge after all! My one issue with the pound is that it has a marker which pets are on your wishlist, but not which pets I already own, and since we all know there's many many many many many different pets on this site I have routinely grabbed something I already have on accident.

Regardless.... I also think the pound probably deserves some adjustments considering that it's been exactly the same since I joined and if functionality/optimization/etc changes I'm open to it.
