So basically i want to see how everyone plays diffrent events what they keep an eye out for and all that. Im going to list the diffrent events and questions (same question for each event(maybe a st patricks event doesnt get everyone as excited as cristmas)) but yeah. I joined in 2016 and feel like i should be farther along than i am but that may just be school then having a kid.

i have a few goal of collecting one of every pet, item, and working on my art.
i am looking to open a huge adoption center after i get that.

1. what is each pet at unknown worth?
It depends. A free pet is worth as much as any other monthly free pet. A token pet I prefer to trade for other token pets.

2. what is each token worth?
2 C$, maybe 3 if the market is high. I would also trade tokens for token pets according to the value of the pet.

3. does the amount of tokens change the demand of the pet?
I don't think so. I've noticed token pet demand is highly based on looks. Even so, most would rather trade for pets from the same box.

4. what pet is most likely to be hoarded?
High demand species, like lions or dogs. Pets with a particularly interesting/unique design.

5. for events without tokens are the pets treated as normal or event?
I treat them as normal. I'd swap them for any monthly pet I'm missing.

6. how much time to you spend hunting?
I set an alarm on my phone for 20 minutes every time i find a banner to maximize the tokens i get. Since I work from home it's quite easy nowadays! Of course, I don't do this when I'm supposed to be sleeping.

7. how many trades do you make?
A bunch. My strategy is to adopt as many pets as there are outcomes in the box. So if there's 3 outcomes, I'll adopt 3 pets, and then trade doubles for the ones I missed. Then at the end of the event I trade my tokens in for the most sought out pets to add to my trade group. (though i did forget to trade in tokens last event, but its ok i got every outcome at least )

8. what do you mainly look for?
I mainly look for missing outcomes. My overall goal for any event is to just get all the pets.

9 do you go after items as much?
Not really. I'll prioritize pets over item boxes. If I have some extra tokens I may spend them on items.

10. most important do you trade you new event pets for older ones?
If it's a fair trade, sure.

I sell them at the beginning of the event for no less than 3 C$, in the middle for no less than 2 C$, and at the end for 1 CS each.

Not in my experience. Unless the pet requires a special token that is difficult to get.

the ones with cool designs

I check in once every 20 minutes to 1 hour

Mostly I sell my tokens and do outcome swaps

absolutely. I have done so many times.

idc lol. i try to not make my pets harder to get than they need to be, I will just straight-up swap any freebie for another even though one outcome will obviously end up being uncommon+ and another will be very common. We never really know for sure though, but I like helping with missed outcomes when I can. I really only trade token pets for token pets though.

2. what is each token worth?
Not less than 3C$ initially, dropping to like 2C$ later on. Though in events where there are more than just basic tokens, and there are rarer tokens that have significantly lower drop rates like that crystal from last summer and the teddy from 2020, I price those higher- iirc I had my crystals at 5c$ and the teddies at 4c$. Those too eventually get a price drop though later on.

3. does the amount of tokens change the demand of the pet?
For me it doesn't, idk about other people but from what I've observed not really, i think maybe it might only if the design is universally accepted to be "cool".

4. what pet is most likely to be hoarded?
I don't hoard, i might keep like 3 of the same pet though if I like it enough but usually not more than that. But I've seen people really, REALLY go absolutely bananas over PPS freebies. PPS pets are also usually rarer than grown pets, so trading for one of these PPS pets can be hard sometimes. On occasions where I get extras of a high-demand free outcome though, I treat it the exact same as a regular unknown worth freebie, but people like to throw in more than usual for those extras (not anything insane though, just a few extra event pets even though I say I usually accept any 1:1 swap) of those pets anyways and I don't object to it because I didn't force them to give me that much. I do try to give the extras to people who aren't trying to make it harder on purpose to get that pet though, and someone who genuinely just wants only one for the purpose of completionism or that they just like it and want it.

I started counting them as event pets recently but not enough to warrant a group for themselves; between Easter and Summer Event I keep my Easter extras in my "current event extras" group and throw in any Mini-Event pets in there when they happen with them, and only when Summer Event begins do I move them to "previous event extras". Then, between Summer/Halloween it's the same thing, and even though Advent doesn't have tokens, it's a major event and I treat it as such, so I move all my Halloween pets to "previous event" for that. Between Advent and Easter I forgot what I do, it depends on how many pets come out for Valentine's usually.

6. how much time to you spend hunting?
I try to get on as often as I can to token hunt but I don't have a timer for every 20mins. Closer to when token hunting closes I try to be on more though.

7. how many trades do you make?
Quite a few. Even if I no longer need an outcome anymore bc I just got it in a trade, I'll still help anyone who missed something if they weren't the first person to offer that outcome I just got. I guess that means I make more trades than I personally need. But others need those trades, so it's all groovy and I'll just give the pets to them. I also will sometimes gift people missed pets, especially during Advent Calendar.

8. what do you mainly look for?
Missed outcomes, with priority on missed token pets (I only spend enough tokens to get all outcomes of a box on the first try, so like if there are five outcomes possible for 2 each of a particular token, I'll only spend 10 tokens on that box and swap 1:1 any duplicates for the ones I missed). I don't usually look for items, extras of pets I already have, and I also try not to trade for or buy tokens until later.

9. do you go after items as much?
Not usually but if I find miscellaneous thingies I want I'll go for them with tokens (if they are token items), or trade my other, less wanted items for them, maybe pets too but again it all just depends. I also like to keep at least one of each token (in events where they are a thing) as a keepsake.

10. most important do you trade you new event pets for older ones?
I am absolutely willing to trade my current event extras for things I missed from previous events and vice versa. The exchange rates vary by trading partner though to find something we're both happy with in that particular trade.

1 c$ - most token pets are 3 - 4 tokens & likely to be rare so that's paying 3-4 c$ for a new rare which is fair. People will sell them for 3-5 c$ but I'm sorry that's like paying 9 - 15 c$ for 3 token pets & 12 - 20 c$ for 4 token pets so how is that really a fair price?

No I think the design & species does that.

I think they are closer to normal as the tendency for any to be rare is pretty slim.

I mostly do litterswaps at unknown rarity, but if it's during an event (especially when something is traded in for something) I can gauge easier about the rarity knowing that the supply is limited!

I normally see and sell tokens at about 1-3 cs depending on demand

I think it could alter the supply available, but people's preference can have more power than that XD

I would hope and tend to see people hoarding commons or less, sometimes uncommons, but I do see people changing or even dissolving hoards once they get to be rare pets!

I would see them still as event pets, seeing as how much Christmas pets go for!

This last Halloween and easter, I was really determined to complete both set, so I tried to hunt as much as possible every day!

During events, a great deal! Mostly with litterswaps

Mainly litterswaps for duplicates when the results of trade ins are random!

Depends on the item!

I think that depends as well, I would be more likely to trade new to old or old to new a bit after the event, and only with dupes of course!

if it’s a free adopt, then i will trade it for another free adopt. however, if it’s a token pet then obviously i will trade it for another token pet.

2. what is each token worth?
i’ve seen tokens go for about 2-4c$ each, it just depends on the user. i usually sell them for 2c$ and then towards the end of the event, 1c$.

3. does the amount of tokens change the demand of the pet?
i really don’t think so. i think it mostly depends on the design.

4. what pet is most likely to be hoarded?
i think hoarding depends on the user’s personal taste. when there’s a new species released or a new pet that has different lines, those tend to be hoarded more. for example, i know a lot of people who hoard snakes(myself included).

i think they’re treated as normal seeing as those pets outside of events tend to be omgsc-common, sometimes uncommon.

6. how much time to you spend hunting?
i spend a good amount of time hunting for missing outcomes while the event is still active. sometimes if people are going crazy over a certain outcome and that said pet is hard to obtain at the time, i’ll wait until after the event to get it once the craziness has died down.

7. how many trades do you make?
during events, a lot! in between events, i just trade for litterswaps or try to get pets that i am collecting.

8. what do you mainly look for?
i try to get one of each outcome but i like to look out for unique designs.

9 do you go after items as much?
i love items a lot and usually try to get multiples of them.

10. most important do you trade your new event pets for older ones?
as long as it’s a fair trade then absolutely!

1. Every unknown rarity I value as either a common or uncommon depending on how much I like the design. This goes for event pets oo but for token pets I think of them more as rare (esp. if there's a lot of hype about the pet). I usually trade token for token pet.

2. One token = whatever the current rate for it seems. If I check the trade forum and most ppl are asking 5C$ for one token, I use that value. If people are asking 3C$, I use that value.

4. For me, it's totally dependent on design, no other factors.

5. I treat events without tokens as just monthly pets. E.g. st patricks day and any other single day celebrations (like recent world rainforest day)

6. When I can, I set timers to token hunt. I'll use these during my free time or when I don't have to keep my phone off me. For pets that are very hard to get I just wait until after the event. Even if it's months after I can get the pet later.

7. I don't usually do many trades unless it's for outcomes I need. I'll occasionally open up trades for exchanges even if I don't need them.

8. I look for profit and my own collection. I don't care about having a full collection, just whatever catches my eye.

9. If they're cool or very useable I'll go for items. Big plushies are usually very low prioroty, I'll get a lot of things like environment or decorations.

10. Yep of course.

As an extra, a brief rundown of how I play token events is I play them for profit first and collection second. I'll look for people selling tokens at a good price, collect at least 100-200, then auction them off because I know people will offer a lot for them. I wait until I get an offer I like or will usually end the auction a few days before the event ends and use the rest of the time/rest of my tokens to collect any pets I really want.

{Depends on the event! Small one day events, usually common. Bigger events like Advent, uncommon, and for hunting events like Halloween the freebies are often common - uncommon & the trade-in pets rare.}

{hmm I would say an uncommon? I usually value them around 2 - 3C$.}

{I don't think so. Demand is almost completely based on species and looks!}

{Dogs and lions, hands down. PPS too. And now that we have them, my money is on snakes. I hoard rats myself, and anything that I REALLY like!}

{This is another good one! I treat them more as normal pets since they're easier to come by & trade for. Even free pets from token events I treat this way.}

{All of it 😂😂 I have a lot of free time I spend resting so I have no trouble hitting the banner limits every event.}

{For something like swapping, extremely few until closer to the end. I make way more trades at the end when I'm buying extra tokens & trading them off for hoards, and offering litterswaps.}

{For me personally I'm after one of each outcome I like & any hoards. I also keep tabs on what outcomes are most popular and will stock up on those for trade fodder!}

{Not particularly, unless plushies are involved, but I will pick up a couple extra sets for fodder!}

Yes. For me, a lot. One token can make the difference between the pet becoming rare because less people get them, regardless of demand at the time.

The cute ones of course! And the niche ones like the hw spider dogs?

For me I treat them same as event but I keep mental note.

A couple of hours each day? Depends on real life.
But I will set an alarm for ten minutes because otherwise my adhd would never remember the banners.

Often only trading for missing outcomes so maybe one or two a day.

YESSS. I want all of the items. More than one of the ones I like.

If extra, yes. Especially wanted outcomes, people have generously offered older event pets.

Most of the other people I have talked with, they trade their tokens for C$ a lot. Which I also want to do someday because store pets and people have trading groups where they prefer C$

Also, edit: Many people I've traded with prefer the outcomes to have the original day they were released?
I sort by lineart though, so it's less of an issue for me.
