Was this fair? I have been told multiple time that the 2:1 ratio for year and omgsc-uc and then a uncommon = a rare 2 years younger? thoughts?

No definitely not, you'd need at least an uncommon added onto that common. If not a bit more. very unfair to them. As rares tend to be valued more over commons. By the rule- yes you're correct. By usual trade values. No. Plus space pets (rares) tend to be overpaid for.

teeechnically fair by the 2:1 rule, but people generally favour rares over commons. also, space event pets are easier to get overpay for.

if you go by the more common 2:1 rule lets take a look at this trade;
2016 rare (2 2016 uncommons) = a 2015 uncommon = a 2014 common
so this trade is unfair, but to the common side.
they would have to add another 2014 common to make it fair.

however, event pets tend to have a little higher value, especially from the 2013 slumber party / the 2016 space event

most of the items on your side are worth an uncommon / a rare from their release year.
their side is only covering the 2011 items, the ice pop / cream, and the pendant
they would have to add at least another 10 rare, a 13 rare and a 16 rare

cinnabun consistently gets 2 nons, and the ceg usually fetches 1.5, however you would be correct in saying you could get 2 nons for it since it is TD. it would be a fair swap, just depends which one you prefer.
