I nearly squealed when I went to check on my pets today and saw this lil' guy! SO DANG CUTE <333 Not sure if anyone here knows/remembers the W.I.TC.H. TV show but he instantly reminded me of Mr. Huggles:

I missed this guy, what species is he?

It's a rat!

Um, wasn't it supposed to be dormouse? Rats don't have fluffy tails ^^; (even though this fella is from the rat litter)

I think it might be a Japanese flying squirrel, actually!! I immediately noticed the pattern and color similarities, but I’m not sure if I got this one right 😅😅

My current rat identifications:

- Varigated Squirrel

- Prevost's Squirrel

- Maybe a Mexican Grey Squirrel? Or a Fox Squirrel (some look like this).

- Finlayson's Squirrel or Japanese Giant Flying Squirrel

- Malabar Giant Squirrel

- Thirteen-Lined Ground Squirrel

- Either a Siberian flying squirrel or Japanese flying squirrel; they look identical

Interesting that we get Indian giant squirrels now. I only recently learned about these royal-looking animals. Depending on the lighting, the black parts of their fur can look like midnight blue, which is amazing.

you know what, the way these guys are growing reminds me of those color changing toys that i used to have as a kid, you know, the ones that change color depending on how hot or cold they get. x)

I had no idea about Japanese flying squirrels, just googled it and had to hold back squeals again because they're too adorable <33 and true, this little fella looks exactly like one!

I remember having a little soccer ball that changed color. However, there were only different green states, it wasnt that colorful.
