Just 2 09 rares would be fair for that pet, if you go by the doubling rule (1 vr = 2 r) 4 seems excessive and I wouldnt say that pet has any special demand.

It's unfair to you. The general consensus is that a VR (not store pet) is worth 2-3 rares from the same year (it varies depending on who you trade with), this would be overpay even if both of you used 3:1 instead of 2:1
