Image OMG... Pileated!!! Bless you, dear, sweet artist! I'm in love so much!!! I've been told about this woodpecker, but have never been able to see one. Their territory is so large (perhaps because it's the largest woodpecker of the genus or species) that I've yet to spot one. I've heard of others seeing one of these guys, but not me. Thank you!!!

I hope you get to soon! They are a fun bunch. Had a mated pair check out our property for a nesting site this spring and had some absolutely lovely views of them up close. The female utterly went to town on an old spruce stump and within a couple days it was essentially mulch 😂😂 so funny to watch her pound away at a dumb little stump and the storm of resulting pieces flying off! Even got to see them mate a couple times.

I'm telling ya, its gonna be so darn tough to pick a favorite from this litter! This may be another one of those where i have to stash more than one into my favorites group! xD

And with that i officially have no more growing pets this month.

I think there is three pets left to grow? A zebra, a yellow dog, and a dog from the other litter that's still under the blanket.

Ah, ty. Still an unusual month, though 🤔

I thought I was missing something because the two dogs grew tonight. All I have left is the zebra. I hope it's not going to split again

It's actually a lineated woodpecker ^^ I wanted to pick something a little more obscure, lineated have a striped belly and large red facial makings where pileated have a black belly and small red facial markings plus black stripes

They've very similar in appearance, lineated lives in central/south America where pileated live in North america. Fun little thing, google kept trying to auto correct me into searching 'pileated' and when I mentioned lineated to my mother she went 'you mean pileated, right?'. Definitely obscure enough, lol
