Generally, I don't mind it and I ignore their posts and put in my opinion, but I'm getting entirely fed up with it. Somebody just stated that the White Dragon is worth a Yellow Toxic, and somebody keeps challenging one of my good friends who knows her rarities by heart. These n00bs are trying to "help" because they want to look like they know what they're talking about but they're only making themselves look like complete... well, morons. Sorry if that's a bit harsh. It's not fair to the members who go there seeking help on their trades. I fear that far too many unfair trades have been accepted due to the takeover of n00bs on that thread. I feel like I need to constantly stalk the thread because somebody is going to stroll in and give terrible advice. It's even a rule - if you don't know what you're talking about, don't post. How is it fair for people to get bad advice and get scammed because a n00b wants to look helpful?

Arrrgh! I'm just so fed up.

I agree with this. I'll admit, I'm not a rarity expert but I'll still share my opinion if I'm confident with it. If I don't know, I don't post!

I agree. -__-
There are about three people on there that are constantly giving bad advice. I feel bad for those members that feel the need to babysit the thread to make sure that people aren't getting cheated out of the worth of their pets.

For some reason I feel like I need to defend myself against this. I happen to be one of these people who try to help in this thread. I don't act like I know, and I don't just give advice blindly. I use the search box in the thread to answer about pets that are asked about multiple times within the same day/week. At least someone is attempting to answer the questions. I take my time in researching the answers I give (Using the search there, and the fair trades thread). Also, it isn't to act like I know it all. It's to learn the rarities so I don't have people hounding on me for being a "noob". It's the best method I've found since most of the experienced players I come across insult me or brush me off.

I hate it when you see an auction or a trade thread and the title says something with "CHEAP Auto!" or something like that. And then you come there and it's not cheap at all or way expensive.

I also hate when people lie in their titles like,
"IM QUITTING"
And then you get there and they're like, "Just kidding. I wanted to get people's attention!"

It stopped this person who was giving AWFUL advice to people(including myself,I miss my grinner. D:)
And I got on their arse until they stopped. :')

I told someone they were giving bad advice once. Didn't stop them. Some people are far too eager to try and prove their knowledge or lack thereof. All to feel 'helpful' :/ This was after I had countered like 4 of their 'advices' with what was really fair. Like Seasonal, I feel I have to stalk the thread and make sure someone isn't giving out bad trade advice.

I'm still a fan of someone starting something like a fair trade army, and "accrediting" people to give good advice, however I foresee people whining if they aren't allowed on the list or such. Otherwise I'd try to start one but I have no tolerance for dealing with people who whine.

*Sigh* about all I feel I can do is PM people who is giving bad advice, and give good advice and cross my fingers, since direct confrontation in the thread doesn't do anything but start people getting snappy and mean (I've had one come after me before, until *thankfully* a few people came to my defense and they "disappeared" from the thread for a few hours.

I had them tell someone an under offer on one of my pets was "over offering" and that they could get "2 coons tails" for a BEG alone.

*blink*

yeah that was a -fun- one to bite back comments on and just prod until someone came in with the CORRECT fairness (I didn't want to say anything for fear of being told I was "trying to corrupt" the opinions because it was my trade)

@ Kari

Did you NOT listen to what I said?! It was BECAUSE of the fair trade thread I was scammed. D:<

And also what drives me to ripping someone's head off is when I ask a question on the thread, the person trading says "Yeah,it's fair!" *headdesk*

I tolearate annoying whiners. I'd start it. x3

I think Seasonal meant that for the people who don't try. If you put that much effort into answering people's questions, you're bound to get a reasonable answer--I'd be surprised if you didn't. I'm grateful to people like you who put in that amount of effort to answer someone's questions correctly, because I know I'm in the fair trade thread quite a lot, and however pathetic this may seem, I can't pull together a fair trade by myself for the life of me. N00bs with bad advice get me all the time, and I'm starting to become super-wary of the things I hear on that thread. I feel better knowing there's at least a couple of regular people there who aren't flapping their jaws just to see their own shiny posts.

As to the white dragon = yellow toxic scenario--I saw that conversation, and I PM'd the person in question. We discovered that it was the demand for the white dragon that was throwing them off. It's like the '10 UR dog--it's only worth a sorbet at best, yet some people will give you a nonswirl for it. Someone got even a sunback. It's just demand, and the pet's fake value. They were confused, is all. Try not to be too frustrated with them. ^^;

Kiwi, I think you need to calm down a little. Most people have been scammed before. But you learn from it.
