I don't think we should try to enforce specific values for pets or what advice is given out, but I:be ignored the thread for a few years and looking at it in the past few days, it looks like the majority of advice given is out of date and inaccurate. What is the point of having a fair trade advice thread if half of the advice isn't helpful? I am unsure what can be done about it but I don't like the idea of people being told to accept unfair trades or cancel fair trades.

I’m serious. Like that first sentence scares the heck out of me about how fickle right now the trading economy is, it scares me to the degree of absolute worry and sorrow in being worried that anything changing might not work

I am suggesting ideas hoping things will stick to walls.

When the FTT gets to 900 pages, that’s gotta be restarted with a new front page, maybe some different words and rules depending on things?

Explain what is an appropriate answer and what isn’t. Explain how the rares list was outdated with hyperlinks to more expansive posts explaining more.

But by stating the above, it’s controlling what can be said. And not leading to open interpretation tontrading... that’s my crossroads anyway.

For me however. The biggest problem is people who ask about auctions. They aren’t looking for fair trades, they’re looking for what is worth the most for their pet.

So for me, why should these posts be allowed on FTT when they aren’t looking for fairness?

I’ve been thinking about the FTT thing all day. We value everything in 09’ rares, which is failing because they are turning VR. We also value everything in nons, which was ok before the rarity update but now they are OMGSR and not a viable form of currency.

I wish we could stop valuing things in nons and 09’s. Now we have the issue of people using different guides for reference so we have to give them 4 different versions of if their trade is fair or not. The whole economy needs a massive renovation.

The Zebras are stated to be the rarest pet on CS. Personally, I wouldn’t know where to put the UR Strawberry on a list other than at the bottom as it is a new OMGSR.

The rarity tag is the same. The difference is that one pet has been rarer than the other. That is if the pet is the plains zebra, the colour of my phone is terrible.

Regardless, I believe that this is unfair to the Zebra, but I wouldn’t know by how much exactly. I’d say more than the dog you have there for sure, but maybe a “former mainlist VR near the “big gap?”” To make it a known even? Maybe a sorbet? I don’t know. :(

That guesstimate is legitimately a shot in the dark. I would recommend that you and your trading partner talk it out and see what you guys can do.

I’d honestly say that it’s still unfair to the 08 dog. Maybe by a 08 uncommon(which there is none so maybe a 12 Rare?)

Even though it is a store pet, it is still only a rare. It can’t work the way it used to bc the cheetahs are rare and that a rare store pet is worth a rare ‘10 Rare doesn’t apply here bc they are rare. That’s it. Rare within the three month rule for now, maybe up to 4 year rule in the future. The 2016 store pet that is very rare could work to equal a 10 Rare but the other pets cannot work using this system as they are only rare.

Even with that said, the time factor from the above post works with this one as well.

First one is unfair to them. Those pets are 09 rares and the store pets as VR’s are worth more yes, but not at Rare 09 level yet.

The second one I would say is unfair to you by maybe another 10 Rare. I’m not going by the list here, but it is worth noting that this pet is worth a little bit more than a straight swap.

Drastically unfair to the rat. I counted roughly 33 09 rares on your side. I personally say (just me for now) that a OMGSR is worth 100+ 09 rares (at least it isn’t 10,000 like it used to be.) due to the rarity overhaul.

I just auctioned a zodiac dog set and they were, co i sighting with the list, went for around a mid advent list. I got a light leopard for them, a pet that should of belonged on the mid advent list. So that’s what I’m Worthing them at.

Even then it’s still unfair to the rat. Demand is up to you to determine, not anyone else :)

So this brings up a few points:

Whose to say a OMGSR is worth x anymore?

I’m using 100 09 rares to get to the point which doesn’t make sense because they don’t really exist anymore. So would that equal 100 10 rares since date isn’t as stretched out? Would it be 110 rares instead?

Even then, is the 100 figure right? I don’t believe it is, but there is nothing in place to determine the worth of it at this point, it’s only being used because it’s a nice round number and kids can relate to it and understand it.

The use of the old list was also present. This is because it’s all I’ve known for years, even after hiatus.

The third part is trading list for non list. I still stated they value more because they were on the list. Is that right or nah?

At this point, I’m wondering if anyone has started counting how many regular 09’ rares there are left. If we are counting how many lists per there are, why not count a few 09’ rares to see the gap? Maybe then we could figure something out? I seriously have no idea but everything is a bit of a mess right now. I don’t even know if that’s how the new lists are working out. I’m slowly losing a bit of faith ahah

The only thing we have to actually determine this is this quote:

It’s been 10 years since this was posted and two rarity updates have been made since then making it inaccurate but the only source of information we have. I sent in a help ticket asking about rarity thresholds a few hours ago. I don’t believe it will be released, because if it hasn’t been released already why would it ever be? But I’m curious as to why it hasn’t. I think if these numbers were updated we could actually make something good out of it.

My current assumption is that an OMGSR is worth anywhere between 12-40 VRs. But how do we determine from what year? But they are all under the same threshold?? Rarity math is so confusing, especially without actual data. And pet prices won’t stop inflating. Aaa!!

Tbh Zetirian I would not trade a VR for a Rare regardless of age unless it was a very new store pet and I really liked the rare, as in it was a special one I wanted. A lot of newer store pets are rare instead off VR which zi think helps. On the other hand, people are more likely to have VR store pets for trade than 09 rares because many 09 pets driving the rarity tag down are on accounts in personal collections so not for trade, while some people buy store pets for trading out. So from a supply perspective, maybe they are...

Wouldn't it be cool to build a survey featuring tons of trades and ask users which side they prefer, to get a better feel for how people would trade naturally? I think that would be cool, but a lot of effort to set up.

I'm not sure what's wrong with asking that. In my opinion it's perfectly reasonable to want to know which offer is best, and the FTT is really the only place where it makes sense to ask about that. Do you have a suggestion for an alternative? Maybe a separate thread for auction help? Would it be better if the FTT was renamed to something like, Trade and Auction Advice?

I apologize if this is a dumb question. Do you mean how many 09 rares are left as far as different pets go or all of them?
