also re: UR Banana/fruit discussion--we got rarity tags in Oct 2009, so although newly adopted UR fruits/things wouldn't have the tag since they're either new or still growing, the tag would at least help with identifying URs that are older/fully grown, sorta like "oh gee, that banana that some people deleted is actually really rare!" or something

(and then after the first couple of Dec 18s, the high rarity of URs would become common forum knowledge)

Thanks also for the UR tiger info, do you have any more details? Was the release issue corrected or are they still more rare than other URs? Because if it was corrected then it would be very misleading for this pet to retain its "top of the pack" status so to speak.

I'm unsure, I believe it has been corrected. I'm basing this almost entirely off this post and there are posts from around 2010 that suggest at that point the UR tiger was the rarest DOG on the site. However this post explains that at that time it was less rare than the UR butterfly wolf and the UR rat.
However if the original post is correct and more have been released in subsequent years to make it less rare then who knows.
I think this was the evidence for it being placed at the very top of the rares list. I'm not sure if it's still relevant because if it is it's probably worth a note in the guide. Still somewhat interesting as a history fact.
The rarity of the UR tiger is mentioned halfway down here.

I think I should say that I personally don't consider this evidence for the UR tiger being more rare or for it being less rare. It could be a rumour. I was hoping someone who was around at the time would know more.

Personally I believe the relative rarities of UR pets could change every year. Especially if there is some behind the scenes magic to keep numbers balanced. E.g. releasing more of the recent URs otherwise the 09 URs would become less rare as they'd be 'watered down" each year by more and more being released. For example if they released 50 UR dogs every year by now there'd be hundreds of them compared to only 50 of the newest UR. Not really sure how that works out in my head, but it would seem that the system would some adjusting of the probabilities year in year out to keep numbers of UR pets balanced

In the meantime, I have mucked about with the UR draft on p11, and quite like Option 2 for the sorting method. Do you guys like this way of arranging these pets? Please provide opinions and they don't have to be either of the options I have drafted up, if you can come up with better ones it would be appreciated!!

I also like the second option better. I don't remember which thread I saw it on but I saw somewhere mentioning colorblind people so unless you're just trying to make something a little more pleasing to the eye like what you did with the titles of sections (like rules, contents, etc) maybe color coding isnt the best option.

UR Butterfly Wolf - usually OMGSR <--- these would be colour coded, the rarity would not be typed beside them

I've updated the store pets. Does it look hard to read with so much red? I really like the idea of colour coding though.

Also how many years do we need to list out, do we really need to list them all? The problem is I can't think of any arbitrary cut off date aside from the 2 years since they will be the only ones touched by OMGSR tags anytime in the next few years. But that doesn't mean the others aren't as valuable.

Re the UR pets, blue was used to signify 'usually omgsr' as opposed to 'always omgsr'. The problem with colour coding is there are 3-4 options but not clear colours to use. Also colour blind people as mentioned above. I think we might go with option 2 and only use colour coding to signify their current rarities, or perhaps not colour code that section since they are grouped? It seems to be the favoured option in the comments.

As far as the store pets, thank goodness. Yes lets cut off where we are now.
However, it does look a bit red wall and GAHH, and the '-' seem to just blend. I modified the first section to use '|' as a pet separator, thoughts? (see previous post)
