I think that older store pets should be considered because I don't think that they get rereleased meaning that the number of them is set and with the number of people on cs growing all the time that ratio of pets to users is getting bigger over time, whereas the new ones, while similarly rare the newer ones have a much bigger ratio and could be on the lower end of the scale. Also, leaving them for a while means that demand can be mitigated. The pps store cheater was so highly adopted that it became rare, but over time it will get rarer again as people move on from wanting it or have it by that point

I agree with this. I am a bit curious as to what people consider to be "older" store pets. Just the ones in 2009? I personally see the ones from 2009-2012 as "old" but I can see how that could be subjective. Although ideally as time went on I guess all store pets will be considered old at some point lol

I would like to see an older store pet list too but maybe just not ingrained within the "regular" pet list, since they're not really comparable.

I went back and counted the days.

So far both Store/UR are winning together.
Followed by just UR pets.

It's a decent size grouping for both options (considering the number of votes so far) so while so far looks like store pets are being added- looks like we can explore that "separate store pets but keep them on the guide" a little bit more. As well as any other ideas people might have?

I feel like for most UR pets there isn't currently enough data to have them in the same list as regular release pets. Most are OMGSR out of the gate, and their year of release doesn't seem that relevant when comparing them the way comparing older and newer regular releases happens.

So tbh I don't think it's feasible to include them in the same list as regular releases and think you should separate them.

I also think as was posted above that store pets being separate makes sense. Store pets increase in rarity once per year due to not being rereleases, and it might be appropriate to keep them in a separate post too.

So I would like to explore both of these options in the next discussion or poll together personally c:

When we say store pets, at what year is the cut off point? Are we going with what the old lists did up to 2012?
(Also I would like to say hi! I'm going to be taking some time later on to do some coding on here and to organize ^^)

Also true about the URs, generally I imagine all of them would be at the top of this rarity list if they are included in the main portion, which isn't such a bad thing when you think about it. It would make it easy for the younger users to understand their value worth and the older users already have some common knowledge that omgsorare is worth more than a very rare. But the separation is also a valid idea.

^ and that's weird because UR Cookie used to be OMGSR wasn't he? But UR Ice Cat never was and now is afaik. I don't get URs, I really don't. I hope the pet count project can shed some light on their craziness.

Ok good, that's important to note.
Because that means there is a handful of UR pets that are less rare than regular released pets- example being Non Dogs. It's just my opinion, but while I'm still 50/50 with the store pet separate list, I think the URs should be on the main list with the rest of the rarity pets, because we can intertwine these pets. Not all of them are going to be above everything else.

Though Solloby you make a good point for a different section for them. About not having enough data. What I do know from a post from Tess is that she said the initial release of UR pets are higher than later years. So we see a bigger dump of new URs to get them into circulation, and later on they go back to having 'normal' release numbers compared to other URs.

I'll have to find the post where she explains this.

Yeah but that makes no sense for UR Cookie. It has now become less rare than it was before. It was more rare than nons and ice cat, and now it is less. How do you even ???

I would like them separate partly because of these shenanigans!
I am just concerned that after the next rereleases they will jumble around again. Remember when UR 08 Cat was OMGSR for years then one year went VR briefly for no apparent reason then returned to OMGSR from then on. Seriously how do we even work with that sort of thing?
