Anyway, was it possible to only adopt those tess boxes or only malk boxes?

not sure what you mean by the tess and malk boxes. If it is what I think you are saying then you could of adopted from both(two per box)
I only got four pets, two from each box. Not sure how everyone has over four, I can not trade any of mine as no one wants to trade me theirs in return
